AVS Futebol SAD is a Portuguese association football club currently playing in the Liga Portugal 2, the second tier of Portuguese football league system. They are based in the town of Aves (Santo Tirso), Vila das Aves and they play in Estádio do CD Aves. Founded in 2023, the club results in the renaming of former U.D. Vilafranquense, UD Vilafranquense SAD after moving to Vila das Aves. History The club was founded on 5 May 2023 after U.D. Vilafranquense, UD Vilafranquense's Sociedade Anónima Desportiva, SAD relocated from Vila Franca de Xira to Vila das Aves due to poor stadium conditions. Vilafranquense went to the AF Lisboa district championships while Vilafranquense SAD (now AVS) secured their spot in the 2023-24 Liga Portugal 2. The new club has no relation to the defunct Clube Desportivo das Aves or its phoenix club (sports), phoenix club Clube Desportivo das Aves 1930 apart from the sharing of its infrastructures. Estádio Do CD Aves
Estádio do CD das Aves is a multi-use stadium in Vila das Aves, Portugal. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home ground of previous C.D. Aves until 2021 and currently AVS Futebol SAD from 2023. The stadium holds 8,560 people and was built in 1981. It underwent many renovations during the new millennium especially in the year 2000, when Desportivo das Aves gained promotion to the Primeira Liga for the second time in their history. When the stadium was built, there were 12,500 seats available, but it currently seats only 8,560 after the club decided to remove some of its seats. The France national football team used the stadium as a training ground in preparation for UEFA Euro 2004. France reached the quarter-final stage of the competition after being knocked out of the tournament by eventual winners Greece national football team, Greece thanks to a goal by Angelos Charisteas.

Fernando Manuel Ferreira Fonseca (born 14 March 1997) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a right-back for AVS Futebol SAD. Club career Porto Born in Porto, Fonseca joined FC Porto's youth system in 2009, from neighbours Boavista FC. While at the service of the former's under-19 squad he won two consecutive national championships, under the guidance of former club player António Folha; his contribution was praised by the media, who described an enormous work capacity on the right flank and aggressiveness in ball disputes. João Carlos Nogueira Amorim (born 11 February 1992) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for AVS Futebol SAD as a midfielder. Talles Wander Santos Ribeiro (born 24 October 2003) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Liga Portugal 2 club AVS Futebol SAD.
