APRA Awards Of 1999
The Australasian Performing Right Association Awards of 1999 (generally known as APRA Awards (Australia), APRA Awards) are a series of awards held in May 1999. The APRA Music Awards were presented by Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) and the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS). Only one classical music award was available in 1999: Most Performed Contemporary Classical Composition. APRA provided awards for "Best Television Theme", and "Best Film Score" in 1999. APRA and AMCOS also sponsored the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC), which provided their own awards ceremony, from 1996 to 2000, with categories for film and TV composers. Jon Coghill
Jon Coghill (born 26 August 1971) is an Australian drummer best known for his work with Australian rock band, Powderfinger, although he has also toured with Regurgitator. Coghill replaced Powderfinger's original drummer Steven Bishop in 1991 when Bishop wanted to pursue further studies. At this time, Powderfinger had not made any recordings, and as such, Coghill has been the group's drummer for all of their releases. Biography Coghill attended Nambour State High School in Nambour, Queensland where his father was a Physics teacher, graduating in 1988. While in high school, Coghill's ambitions were not directed towards music, as he expressed an interest in football or surfing. "Now I Can Dance" is a song written by Tina Arena and David Tyson. It was the third single taken from Arena's third studio album, '' In Deep'' (1997). It was written by Arena while she was living in Los Angeles and is a love letter from her to her family, as she explained in her autobiography. The song was successful in her native Australia, reaching number 13 on the ARIA Singles Chart. ''Now I Can Dance'' is also the title of Tina Arena's memoir released in October 2013. Her debut was in 1994 with the single, "Mouth", which peaked at number one for six consecutive weeks in Australia and became a top five hit in the United States. Bernard Fanning
Bernard Fanning (born 15 August 1969) is an Australian musician and singer-songwriter. He was the lead vocalist of Queensland alternative rock band Powderfinger from its formation in 1989. Born and raised in Toowong, Brisbane, Fanning received piano lessons from his mother at an early age. At the age of 15, while he attended St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace, he began writing music.
