AFC Wimbledon Development Squad And Academy
AFC Wimbledon Development squad and Academy are the youth teams of professional English association football club AFC Wimbledon. Under the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) system for youth development, the academy has been granted Category Three status. The Under-18 squad currently competes in Football League Youth Alliance South East Conference. The Under 18's squad play their home matches in the FA Youth Cup at Kingsmeadow, in Kingston upon Thames, London. Whilst the Under 23's play a majority of their matches at Merstham F.C. most other matches are held at the club's New Malden training complex. The development squad competes in the Under–21 Premier League Cup. History The AFC Wimbledon Academy was founded in 2003. In 2010, the Under-13s squad won the Tesco Cup, having triumphed through the County and Regional rounds of the competition, by beating Lytham St Annes YMCA 2–0 in the final. Ossama Wassim Ashley (born 23 February 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Salford City. Playing career AFC Wimbledon and West Ham United Ashley joined AFC Wimbledon's youth set-up in March 2017 after a spell in the Fulham Academy. On 5 December 2017, he made his professional debut as a substitute in a 2–0 EFL Trophy defeat at Yeovil Town. Oluwafemi Abayomi Alaba "Femi" Ilesanmi (born 18 April 1991) is an English semi-professional footballer who plays as a defender for National League club Boreham Wood. Ilesanmi started his career with AFC Wimbledon's youth system, making his first-team debut in 2007 before transferring to Queens Park Rangers in 2008, where he played for the under-18 team. Chris Hussey
Christopher Ian Hussey (born 2 January 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left-back for club Stockport County. Hussey spent his youth with Brentford and Woking, before earning a professional contract with AFC Wimbledon in 2007. He spent time on loan at Windsor & Eton and helped Wimbledon to progress from the Isthmian League Premier Division to the Conference Premier with two successive promotions. Hussey was signed by Championship club Coventry City in January 2010, and managed to become a regular starter for the team. Anthony Rhys Hartigan (born 27 January 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for EFL League Two club Mansfield Town. Career AFC Wimbledon Hartigan joined AFC Wimbledon aged 14, after being spotted playing for the coaching company Pro Direct Soccer. He signed his first professional contract on his 17th birthday.
