A4 Motorway (Slovenia)
The A4 motorway ( sl, avtocesta A4, Podravski krak) is a 33.4 km long motorway in Slovenia connecting Maribor and Gruškovje (at the Croatian border). It also connects the two principal cities of the Drava Statistical Region of Slovenia, Maribor and Ptuj. Construction began in 2007 and was completed in 2018. Sections The A4 consists of three sections: * Slivnica (Maribor) – Draženci (Ptuj): opened on 16 July 2009. * Section Draženci - Gruškovje develops along the existing highway. A reconstruction of parallel local roads is also planned now. Avtocesta A1
The A1 motorway ( sl, avtocesta A1), also known as Slovenika, is long, connecting Šentilj (at the Austrian border) and Koper, Koper/Capodistria (on the shores of the Adriatic Sea). It connects several of the largest metropolitan areas of the country, including Maribor, Celje and Ljubljana, all the way to the Slovenian Littoral and port town of Koper. Construction began in 1970 and the first section was finished in 1972, connecting Vrhnika and Postojna. Everyday operation of this initial stretch started on 29 December 1972. The connection to Koper was finished on 23 November 2004. The second-to-last part, from Trojane to Blagovica, was opened on 12 August 2005. It was also the most expensive, having eight viaducts and two tunnels despite being only 11 km long. The final section, the eastern Maribor bypass, opened on 14 August 2009. Zlatoličje
Zlatoličje () is a village on the right bank of the Drava River southeast of Maribor in northeastern Slovenia. It lies in the Municipality of Starše in an area that is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Drava Statistical Region. South of the settlement is a 136 MW run-of-the-river hydroelectricity, opened in 1969. A solar power plant is set on the river banks. Name Zlatoličje was attested in written sources in 1220–30 and later as ''Goldarn'' (and as ''Goldsdorf'' in 1320). The Slovene name is derived from the common noun ''zlatolika'' ' golden willow' (''Salix alba'' var. ''vitellina''), referring to local vegetation. Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport
Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport ( sl, Letališče Edvarda Rusjana Maribor) is an international airport in Maribor, Slovenia. The second biggest and second most important Slovenian airport, it is the only other airport besides the airport in Ljubljana suitable for international commercial aviation, equipped with ILS. At this location, the airport Skoke has been for sports purposes since 1953, and in 1976 it was complemented for international traffic. It is located in Hoče–Slivnica which is about south from Maribor. In 2008 it was renamed after the Slovene pioneer aviator Edvard Rusjan.
