A-Z Of Rude Health
''A-Z of Rude Health '' was a medical series taking a lighthearted look at sexual health. For every letter of the alphabet, a topic of sexual health was covered. e.g. A for Anal, B for Balls, C for Chlyamydia etc. The factual but lighthearted studio segments were presented in a semi-improvised format by Dr Phil Hammond and Dr Annie Evans after scripting discussions between the presenters and Mr Peter Greenhouse, while all three worked together at the Bristol Department of Sexual Health, and the vox pops and comedy pieces were written and performed by Kev F Sutherland. It was broadcast late on Friday night on regional ITV in the Bristol and West area. Dr Phil Hammond
Philip James Hammond (born 1 January 1962) is a British physician, broadcaster, comedian and commentator on health issues in the United Kingdom. He is best known for his humorous commentary on the National Health Service. He first came into the public spotlight writing a column for ''The Independent'' newspaper, where he wrote with a strong pro-patient rights line and as ''Private Eye''s medical correspondent "MD". Early life and education Hammond lived in Australia until the age of seven when his Australian father, Barrie Rees Hammond, Ph.D, a Cambridge-educated physical chemist, killed himself at the age of 38. His English mother moved the family back to England. Hammond was educated at Marlborough Royal Free Grammar School until its closure in 1975, then at its successor St John's Comprehensive, before obtaining a place at Marlborough College as his father had taught there. Kev F Sutherland
Kev F. Sutherland (born 18 October 1961) is a Scottish comedian and comic strip creator. He has drawn for a variety of publications, including ''The Beano''. He has produced several shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, including The Sitcom Trials and The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre. Early life He was born in Aberdeen and raised from age 6 in the village of Kibworth in Leicestershire. His paternal grandmother was the writer and photographer Jean Sutherland. In 1983 he graduated from Exeter College of Art and Design. Career Since 2005, Sutherland has written, produced and performed as '' The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre'', appearing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012 in theatres internationally and on television. ITV (TV Network)
ITV is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. It was launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television (established in 1936). ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK. Since the passing of the Broadcasting Act 1990, it has been legally known as Channel 3 to distinguish it from the other analogue channels at the time, BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4. ITV Wales & West
ITV Wales and West, previously known as Harlech Television (HTV), was an ITV franchise area in the United Kingdom until 31 December 2013, licensed to a broadcaster by the regulator Ofcom. There is no channel, past or present, named "ITV Wales and West". The licence relates to a "dual region", meaning that the franchise area was divided into two sub-regions, Wales and the West of England, each of which had to be served by distinct and separate ITV programme services, as more fully defined within the licence. The Sitcom Trials
''The Sitcom Trials'' is a stage and TV show devised, produced, and presented by Kev F. Sutherland. Beginning in Bristol in 1999, it showcases new sitcoms and comedy items in a head-to-head format. The audience then vote for the one they like best and only see the ending of the winner. History ''The Sitcom Trials'' began life on stage in Bristol and London in 1999, its original venues being The Comedy Box in Bristol and the Comedy Pub (main venue 1999–2006) in London. Other London venues have included The Camden Head, Ophelia Dalston, the Leicester Square Theatre, the Canal Cafe Theatre, Finborough Theatre, Soho Theatre, Ealing Studios, The Green Room Club, and the Hen and Chickens Theatre.
