A. Jagannathan
A. Jagannathan (26 November 19357 October 2012) was an Indian film director who worked in the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi film industries and he was introduced by R.M. Veerappan in his Sathya Movies banner for Manipayal. He directed nearly 50 films in Tamil. Film career He made his debut as director in ''Manipayal'' in 1973 after working as an assistant to T. Prakash Rao and P. Neelakantan for almost 15 films, most of them being MGR movies. He directed the MGR film ''Idhayakkani'', under the tutleage of R.M.Veerappan and went on to direct five other blockbuster films for RMV's Sathya Movies including Moondru Mugam with Rajinikanth and Kadhal Parisu with Kamal Hasaan. He also directed some television serials. He directed Sivaji Ganesan's ''Vellai Roja'' which won awards including the Filmfare Award. Tiruppur or Tirupur ( ) is a city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Tiruppur is the administrative headquarters of Tiruppur district and the fifth largest city as well as an urban agglomeration in Tamil Nadu. ''Gumnaam'' (translation: ''Unknown'' or ''Anonymous'') is a 1965 Indian Bollywood thriller film directed by Raja Nawathe, starring Manoj Kumar, Nanda, Pran, Helen and Mehmood. ''Komberi Mookan'' () is a 1984 Indian Tamil-language film directed by A. Jagannathan. It stars Thyagarajan, Saritha and Urvashi. The film was remade in Telugu as ''Kala Rudrulu''. Plot Mookan, a young boy, lives with his parents in a village. Alavanthar is a wealthy and influential person in the village. He is also a womaniser. One night, he forcibly enters Mookan’s house and rapes his mother and with the help of his henchmen kills and burns his father. His mother initially attempts suicide but changes her mind upon seeing the boy and vows to raise him to be a strong and ethical man who will avenge the injustice committed by Alavanthar. The boy is made to wear a hair bun on his head as a vow to fulfill the duties of revenge and hence he is given the name komberi mookan. He grows up to become a strong man and his mother on her deathbed informs him about the sins committed by Alavanthar and asks him to take revenge. Prem Menon (born 15 October 1953) is an Indian businessman, former actor and director, who has appeared in Tamil films. He became known with his role in the film '' Krodham'' (1982) and has since regularly produced and made his own projects. Career Prem Kumar Menon is the son of entrepreneur K. T. B. Menon, who had vast business interests and investments in Kuwait. Prem Menon heads company Laksola, which produces insulating materials, and his financial success prompted him to pursue other interests in Tamil films. He has subsequently worked in the film industry as an actor director, screenwriter and producer, specialising in making action-thriller films. He made a breakthrough in films by producing and starring in A.
