A. Hameed
A. Hameed (born Shaikh Abdul Hameed; 1924 – 20 May 1991) was a Pakistani film score composer and music director. He started his career in Bombay cinema (in modern-day Bollywood) and later worked in Lollywood. The first Pakistani film he worked as a director was ''Anjaam (1957)'', however he earned his recognition in Pakistani film industry as a music composer. Biography Shaikh Abdul Hameed was born in 1924 in Amritsar, British India (now India). He initially worked in Hindi film industry with Ghulam Haider as a pianist, and subsequently composed music for ''Anjaam'' (1957) and ''Bharosa'' (1977) films. His family later migrated to Pakistan following the partition in 1947 and worked in Pakistani films as a composer. Amritsar (), historically also known as Rāmdāspur and colloquially as ''Ambarsar'', is the second largest city in the Indian state of Punjab, after Ludhiana. ''Susral'' is a Pakistani black and white social film, directed by Riaz Shahid in his directorial debut, who also wrote the screenplay based on a story from his own novel "Hazar Dastaan". It has Yousuf Khan, Nighat Sultana, Allauddin, Laila and Agha Talish in the leading cast. Music was composed by Hassan Latif with lyrics by Tanvir Naqvi and Munir Niazi. It deals with common man problems such as physical disabilities and social injustice, thus ranks among the few realistic films of the Lollywood from 1960s. Nasim Begum
Naseem Begum ( ur, ), (24 February 1936 – 29 September 1971) was a popular, and well known Pakistani film playback singer. She was known as ''The Tradegy Queen'' for singing sorrowful and downhearted songs in films. She rose to prominence towards the end of the 1950s, and by 1964, she had won the prestigious Nigar Awards on four occasions. Despite originally being billed as a ''Second Noor Jehan'', Naseem Begum quickly carved out her own successful niche in the Pakistani film industry. She was the original singer of the popular song "Aye Rahe Haq Ke Shaheedo". Early life Naseem Begum was born in the city of Amritsar, British India, in 1936. Fayyaz Hashmi
Fayyaz Hashmi ( ur, ; 1920 2011) was a Pakistani poet and screenwriter who worked both in the Cinema of India, Indian and Cinema of Pakistan, Pakistani film industry. He penned some memorable songs such as the famous nazm Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo and ''Tasveer teri dil mera behela nah sakegi''. The latter made the singer Talat Mahmood famous in India back in 1944 and was instrumental in introducing him to the Calcutta film industry. A little known fact about him is that he wrote the famous 'Na tum mere na dil mera', that was sung by Kamla Jharia, among many others. One of the couplets from this ghazal became popular that reads: 'aye bas naadaniyon par apni naaz karte hain, abhi dekhi kahan hain aapne naadaniyan meri' and then "Yeh Raatein, Yeh Mausam, Yeh Hansana Hansaana, Mujhe Bhool Jana, Inhein Na Bhulana" sung by Pankaj Mullick (a non-film song). Zubaida Khanum (1935 – 19 October 2013) was a Pakistani playback singer who recorded over 250 songs during Golden Age of Pakistani film music of 1950s and 1960s. She was considered Pakistani equivalent to Marni Nixon of Hollywood for giving voice to featured actresses in movie musicals. ''Begum Jaan'' is a Pakistani drama film directed by Hassan Tariq and is the remake of director's own ''Neend'' (1959). Rani played the titular role of ''Begum Jaan'' in the film opposite Shahid while Qavi Khan, Aurangzeb and Rangeela appeared in supporting roles. The music of the film was composed by A. ''Bahisht'' is a Pakistani family drama film produced by Neelo and written by Riaz Shahid. The film stars Nisho and Nadeem in leading roles with Nayyar Sultana, Talish, Lehri, Zamurrad and Saiqa in the supporting cast.
