Adam Clay "A.C." Thompson (born c.1972 Robinson, Eugene S."THE PUNK ROCK JOURNALIST MAKING REAL NEWS AT THE SOURCE" ''ozy.com'', OCTOBER 31, 2017) is an investigative journalist and staff reporter with ''ProPublica''. Investigative journalism is a form of journalism in which reporters deeply investigate a single topic of interest, such as serious crimes, political corruption, or corporate wrongdoing. An investigative journalist may spend months or years researching and preparing a report. Practitioners sometimes use the terms "watchdog reporting" or "accountability reporting." Most investigative journalism has traditionally been conducted by newspapers, wire services, and freelance journalists. The George Foster Peabody Awards (or simply Peabody Awards or the Peabodys) program, named for the American businessman and philanthropist George Peabody, honor the most powerful, enlightening, and invigorating stories in television, radio, and online media.
