A. B. A. Ghani Khan Choudhury
Abu Barkat Ataur Ghani Khan Choudhury (1 November 1927 – 14 April 2006), known as Barkatda to his supporters, was an Indian politician from West Bengal, India. Choudhury was a senior leader of Indian National Congress party. His home is in English Bazar, Malda, West Bengal Political career Ghani Khan Choudhury was first elected as an MLA to the West Bengal state legislative assembly in 1957, winning the seat in 1962, 1967, 1971 and 1972. He served as a State Cabinet Minister in the Government of West Bengal from 1972 to 1977. First elected to the 7th Lok Sabha in 1980 from Malda, Choudhury would go on to represent the constituency for eight straight terms, winning again in 1984, 1989, 1991, 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2004. Malda, West Bengal
Malda or English Bazar is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the sixth largest city (urban agglomeration) in West Bengal. It is the headquarters of the Malda district as well as of the Malda division of West Bengal. It consists of two municipalities, viz. English Bazar Municipality and Old Malda Municipality, under Malda Metropolitan Area. The city is located on the banks of the Mahananda River. Rubi Noor
Rubi Noor (12 August 1945 – 10 July 2008) was an Indian politician and the leader of the Indian National Congress who served as four term MLA from Sujapur (Vidhan Sabha constituency). She was younger sister of A. B. A. Ghani Khan Choudhury and mother of Mausam Noor. Early life Rubi Noor was born in 1945 at the Kotwali residence of the Khan Chowdhurys, a Bengali Muslim bloodline. After her primary education in Malda, she passed her school final from Shri Shikshayatan School in Kolkata in 1964.
