Martina Franca 1947 and again 2016 as A.S.D. Martina Calcio 1947. History The club was founded in 1947. Martina has played in Serie C1 Group B in the 2007–08 season, finishing last, and thus directly relegated to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione (ex-Serie C2). The club needed new financial backers, but with its relegation to Italy's fourth level of professional football, no investors were found and the club decided to withdraw from the 2008–09 season. 2014–15 Lega Pro
The 2014–15 Lega Pro was the first season of the unified Lega Pro division in place of the old Prima Divisione and Seconda Divisione. The league is composed of 60 teams divided into three different groups of 20 each. Teams A total of 60 teams will contest the league, divided into three groups of 20 teams. 2013–14 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione
The 2013–14 Seconda Divisione season is the thirty-sixth and final football league season of Italian Seconda Divisione since its establishment in 1978, and the sixth since the renaming from Serie C to Lega Pro. It is divided into two phases: the regular season, and the playoff phase. The league currently is composed of 36 teams divided into two divisions (''Girone A'' and ''B'') divided geographically. The first eight teams in each ''girone'', plus one team winning the relegation playoff round from each division will remain in Lega Pro. The last six teams in each ''girone'', plus three relegation play-out losers from each division will be relegated to Serie D. 2011–12 Serie D
The 2011–12 Serie D was the sixty-fourth edition of the top level Italian non-professional Association football, football championship. It represented the fifth tier in the Italian football league system. It consisted of 168 teams divided into six 18-team divisions and three 20-team divisions. In the summer 2011 Montecchio Maggiore was readmitted in Serie D to the judgment of the High Court of Justice, that has transformed the score of Montebelluna-Este from 2–1 to 0–3, for infringement of the rule on under. The Promozione (, "promotion") is the sixth level in the Italian football league system. Each individual league winner within the Promozione level progresses to their closest regional league in the Eccellenza level. Depending on each league's local rules, a number of teams each year are relegated from each league, to the 7th level of Italian football, the Prima Categoria. This level of Italian football is completely amateur and is run on a regional level. The Eccellenza (, "excellence") is the fifth level (since 2014–15) of Italian football. It is a regional league, composed of 28 divisions divided geographically. All 20 regions are represented by at least one division except for Piedmont and Aosta Valley which share 2 divisions. Veneto, Tuscany, Sicily, Emilia-Romagna and Campania also have 2 divisions each, while the regions of Lombardy and Lazio have 3 divisions. Promotion and relegation After the regular season is completed, the first-placed team for each division is automatically promoted to Serie D. Lega Pro Seconda Divisione was the fourth highest football league in Italy, the lowest with a professional status. Usually it consisted of 36 teams, but in the 2011–12 season, there were 41 teams divided geographically into two divisions of 20 and 21. Group A covered northern and north-central Italy, Group B south-central and southern Italy. Until the 2007–08 season, the league was known as Serie C2. Before the 1978–79 season, there were only three professional football leagues in Italy, the third being Serie C.
