Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Vigor Trani Calcio is an Italian association football club, based in Trani, Apulia. History From 1928 to 1948 The club was founded in 1928 as ''U.S. Tranese'' and refounded in 1938 as ''S.S. Trani'' that was renamed Polisportiva Trani in 1948. Polisportiva Trani Serie B Polisportiva Trani was promoted to Serie B on 24 May 1964, following the draw 1–1 with Chieti in the last day of Serie C 1963–1964. At the period of playing in Serie B achieved some memorable victories over teams like Parma, Naples, Palermo, Livorno, as well as a 1–0 derby win against Bari in 1964–65. Eccellenza Apulia ( it, Eccellenza Puglia) is the regional Eccellenza football division for clubs in the Southern Italian region of Apulia, Italy. It is competed among 18 teams, in one group. 2011–12 Serie D
The 2011–12 Serie D was the sixty-fourth edition of the top level Italian non-professional Association football, football championship. It represented the fifth tier in the Italian football league system. It consisted of 168 teams divided into six 18-team divisions and three 20-team divisions. In the summer 2011 Montecchio Maggiore was readmitted in Serie D to the judgment of the High Court of Justice, that has transformed the score of Montebelluna-Este from 2–1 to 0–3, for infringement of the rule on under. Trani () is a seaport of Apulia, in southern Italy, on the Adriatic Sea, by railway west-northwest of Bari. It is one of the capital cities of the Province of Barletta-Andria-Trani. History Overview The city of ''Turenum'' appears for the first time in the Tabula Peutingeriana, a 13th-century copy of an ancient Roman itinerary. The name, also spelled ''Tirenum'', was that of the Greek hero Diomedes. The city was later occupied by the Lombards and the Byzantines. First certain news of an urban settlement in Trani, however, trace back only to the 9th century. The most flourishing age of Trani was the 11th century, when it became an episcopal see in place of Canosa, destroyed by the Saracens.
