A.J. Mleczko
Allison Jaime "A. J." Mleczko Griswold (born June 14, 1975) is an American ice hockey player and analyst. She won a gold medal at the Ice hockey at the 1998 Winter Olympics, 1998 Winter Olympics and a silver medal at the Ice hockey at the 2002 Winter Olympics, 2002 Winter Olympics. Playing career Mleczko attended New Canaan Country School and is a graduate of The Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut. Mleczko played college hockey at Harvard University, where she led the Crimson to a national title in 1999. That same year she became the second winner of the Patty Kazmaier Award, which is awarded annually to the best female college ice hockey player in the United States. On September 24, 2002, she was inducted into the New England Women's Hall of Fame. She is a hockey commentator for the NHL on ESPN and MSG Networks. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. Alison Brewer is an American former ice hockey goaltender. She was goaltender for Brown University and was the 2000 winner of the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award. Brewer was inducted into Brown’s Hall of Fame in 2007. Playing career In the 1999–2000 season, Ali Brewer led the ECAC with a 1.33 goals-against average and compiled a 21-3-3 record. During the season, she was named the ECAC goaltender of the week three times. Brewer was an integral part of Brown qualifying for the 2000 AWCHA national semifinals. Brewer holds every Brown goaltending record for a season or a career. In her four seasons with the Bears, she posted a 1.37 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage. Patty Kazmaier Award
The Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award is given to the top female college ice hockey player in the United States. The award is presented during the women's annual ice hockey championship, the Frozen Four. The award was first presented in 1998. The award is named in honor of the late Patty Kazmaier-Sandt, a four-year varsity letter winner and All Ivy League honoree for the Princeton University women's ice hockey team from 1981 through 1986. She also played field hockey and lacrosse. She died on February 15, 1990 at the age of 28 from a rare blood disease. Patty was the daughter of Heisman Trophy winner Dick Kazmaier. John Rufus Gifford (born August 5, 1974) is an American politician, diplomat, and reality television personality, who serves as the chief of protocol of the United States. Catherine Michelle Granato (born March 25, 1971) is an American former ice hockey player and one of the first women to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November 2010. She currently works as an assistant general manager for the Vancouver Canucks organization. Granato was the captain of the U.S. women's hockey team that won a gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics.
