A.D. Santa Bárbara
Asociación Deportiva Santa Bárbara is a Costa Rican football club, currently playing in the Tercera División. They are based in Santa Bárbara de Heredia and play their home games at the Estadio Carlos Alvarado Villalobos. History Founded in 1943, ''Club Sport Barbareño'' represented Santa Bárbara in the first division of the national football league. Between 1962 and 1975, they played in the third division before winning the title in 1976 and subsequent promotion to the Second Division. The team changed its name to ''Asociación Deportiva Barbareña'' in 1984. In 1997 they won promotion to the Costa Rican Primera División and made their debut in the top tier against San Carlos on 17 August 1997. The LINAFA Second B, also known as the Costa Rican Third Division, is a Costa Rican football league below the Costa Rican Second Division and above the LINAFA 3rd Division in the Costa Rican football pyramid. Costa Rican Primera División
The Primera División of Costa Rica, commonly known as Fútbol de Primera División (FPD), and Liga Promerica for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional association football division in Costa Rica. It is administered by the Unión de Clubes de Fútbol de la Primera División (UNAFUT). The league consists of 12 teams, with the last-placed team relegated to the Liga de Ascenso. The league was founded in 1921, with Herediano crowned as the first champions. Saprissa is the most successful club having won the championship a record 37 times. Mario Kempes
Mario Alberto Kempes Chiodi (; born 15 July 1954) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a striker or attacking midfielder. A prolific goalscorer, he finished as La Liga's top goalscorer twice with Valencia and amassed 116 goals in 184 league games for the club. At international level, Kempes was the focal point of Argentina's 1978 World Cup win where he scored twice in the final and received the Golden Boot as top goalscorer. He also won the Golden Ball for the player of the tournament, making him one of only three players to have won all three awards at a single World Cup, along with Garrincha in 1962 and Paolo Rossi in 1982. Puntarenas () is a city in the Puntarenas (canton), Puntarenas canton of Puntarenas Province, on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica.
