A.C. Milan (Superleague Formula Team)
AC Milan Superleague Formula team was a racing team representing Italian football club AC Milan in Superleague Formula. 2008 season In the 2008 Superleague Formula season AC Milan hired the services of ex Formula One driver Robert Doornbos. Robert won 2 races and AC Milan finished 3rd overall in the standings. Doornbos did not return to the series in 2009. He now drives in the IndyCar Series. 2009 season AC Milan returned for the 2009 Superleague Formula season with former Formula One racer and current GP2 Series champion Giorgio Pantano. In having Pantano as their driver, AC Milan are the first Superleague Formula team in history to have had two Formula One drivers to drive their car. In Giorgio's first round for AC Milan he had gearbox problems in qualifying, putting him 16th on grid for the first race. Robert Doornbos
Robert Michael Doornbos (; born 23 September 1981) is a Dutch former racing driver who also competed with a Monégasque licence. He has been test and third driver for the Jordan and Red Bull Racing Formula One teams, as well as driving for Minardi and Red Bull Racing in 2005 and 2006. Doornbos then drove for Minardi Team USA in the 2007 and final season of the Champ Car World Series. He competed in the Superleague Formula racing series in 2008, and drove for the Netherlands team in A1 Grand Prix's 2008–2009 season. In 2009, Doornbos competed in the IndyCar Series. He began the season with Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing, but switched to HVM Racing after the race in Kentucky Speedway. Tennis player to racing driver Doornbos's first sport was tennis. The Super League (officially known as the Betfred Super League due to sponsorship from Betfred and legally known as Super League Europe), is the top-level of the British rugby league system. At present the league consists of twelve teams, of which eleven are from Northern England, reflecting the sport's geographic heartland within the UK, and one from southern France. Azerti Motorsport (also known as Racing for Belgium) is a Belgian motorsport team founded by former racer Wim Coekelbergs. History Racing for Belgium started racing in Belgian Clio Cup in 2003, but graduated to the Eurocup Mégane Trophy in 2005, taking the driver and teams titles with Jan Heylen. They also won the 2005 and 2006 SEAT Leon Supercopa in Spain with Oscar Nogues. In 2007, the team entered an Alfa Romeo 156 in the World Touring Car Championship for Miguel Freitas and an Aston Martin DBRS9 in the Belcar series for Wim Coekelbergs and Ron Marchal. The 2009 Estoril Superleague Formula round was the fourth round of the 2009 Superleague Formula season, with the races taking place on September 6, 2009. Report Qualifying SC Corinthians (Antônio Pizzonia) took his 3rd Superleague Formula pole of the season. Race 1 Polesitter SC Corinthians (Antônio Pizzonia) went too slowly at the start and got passed by Olympiacos CFP (Esteban Guerrieri). When the pitstops came around Liverpool F.C. The 2009 Donington Park Superleague Formula round was the third round of the 2009 Superleague Formula season, with the races taking place on 2 August 2009. Support race events included the Historic Formula One Championship, British Superkart and Formula Jedi. The 2009 Magny-Cours Superleague Formula round was the opening round of the 2009 Superleague Formula season, with the races taking place on 28 June 2009. Liverpool F.C. and A.C. Scuderia Playteam (also known as Scuderia Playteam Sarafree) was an Italian racing team owned by Giambattista Giannoccaro. History The team competed in several series. These included the FIA GT Championship in 2007 when the team finished 2nd overall using a Maserati MC12. This entitled them to enter the 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans but the team did not do so. The 2008 Jerez Superleague Formula round was the sixth and final round of the inaugural Superleague Formula championship, with the races taking place on November 23, 2008. Eighteen football teams were represented on the grid, the same number of teams as there was at the previous four rounds. There were two driver changes before this round of the championship: James Walker replaced Enrico Toccacelo in the Borussia Dortmund car and Bertrand Baguette returned to the Al Ain cockpit replacing Dominick Muermans.
