F.C. Lumezzane S.S.D. is an Italian association football club based in Lumezzane, Lombardy. The club, formerly known as "A.S.D. Valgobbiazanano", acquiring the assets of bankrupted Associazione Calcio Lumezzane S.p.A. and acted as its successor. History A.C. Lumezzane Lumezzane was founded in 1946. The club promoted to Serie C2 in 1993. Since the promotion, the club remained in the divisions Serie C1 (Lega Pro Prima Divisione) and Serie C2 (Lega Pro Seconda Divisione) from 1993 to 2014. The club also participated in 2014–15 Lega Pro season, the first unified Lega Pro/Serie C division since 1978. In the regular season of 2007–08 Serie C2, Lumezzane finished fourth in the Group A, and qualified for the promotional playoffs. The Promozione (, "promotion") is the sixth level in the Italian football league system. Each individual league winner within the Promozione level progresses to their closest regional league in the Eccellenza level. Depending on each league's local rules, a number of teams each year are relegated from each league, to the 7th level of Italian football, the Prima Categoria. This level of Italian football is completely amateur and is run on a regional level. Coppa Italia Serie C ( it, Serie C Italian Cup), formerly named Coppa Italia Lega Pro, is a straight knock-out based competition involving teams from Serie C in Italian football first held in 1972. Format There are a total of six rounds in the competition. It begins in August with the first set, which is contested by 56 out of 60 teams. The other four clubs, which also play in Coppa Italia, join in during the second set. Each game is played as a single leg, except for the semi-finals and the final. If teams are tied (after single leg or on aggregate, no away goal rule applies), the winner is decided by extra-time and a penalty shootout if required. Cristian Brocchi (; born 30 January 1976) is an Italian professional football manager and former player who was most recently the head coach of Vicenza. As a defensive midfielder, Brocchi was rated for his durability and tackling. He began his career with hometown club AC Milan, but he struggled to break into the first team as a youngster. He was subsequently loaned to Pro Sesto and Lumezzane, before being sold to Hellas Verona in 1998. His performances for the club earned him a move to Inter Milan in 2000, where he also struggled due to injury.
