Kulilay Amit (, born 9 August 1972), better known by her stage name A-Mei, is a Taiwanese Puyuma singer and record producer. In 1996, she made her singing debut and released her album, ''Sisters''. Her albums ''Truth'' (2001), ''Amit'' (2009), and ''Faces of Paranoia'' (2014) each won her a Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Female Singer and made the Taiwanese diva one of the singers who won the category the most times. Having sold over 50 million records, she has achieved success in the Mandarin-speaking world and is often referred to as the " Queen of Mandopop". Puyuma People
The Puyuma (), also known as the Pinuyumayan, Peinan or Beinan, are one of the indigenous groups of the Taiwanese aborigines. The people are generally divided into the Chihpen and Nanwang groups, both resident in Taitung County on the east coast of Taiwan. In the year 2000, the Puyuma numbered 9,606. This was approximately 2.4% of Taiwan's total indigenous population, making them the sixth-largest indigenous group. The Puyuma speak the Puyuma language, as well as Mandarin and Taiwanese Hokkien. The name "Puyuma" means "unity" or "concord" and was originally the autonym of the speakers of the Nanwang dialect. Zeitoun and Cauquelin (2006) also note that the word Puyuma can be analyzed as ''pu'-uma'', which means "to send to the field". Chang Hsiao-yen
Chang Hsiao-yen (; born 11 August 1948) is a Taiwanese television host and actress. Born in Shanghai, China, Chang relocated to Taiwan after the Chinese Civil War where she started her acting career at the age of five as a child actress in cinema. In 1958, she received her first Best Child Actress award at the Asia Pacific Film Festival, a recognition she earned for three consecutive years and which placed her alongside notable child stars such as Josephine Siao, Lydia Shum, Fung Bo Bo and Connie Chan. Beinan, Taitung
Beinan Township or Peinan Township () is a rural township in Taitung County, Taiwan. It has a population of 17,435 as of November 2017. It is home to the Puyuma and Rukai peoples. David Tao (), born Tao Xuzhong () (born 11 July 1969), is a Taiwanese Golden Melody Award-winning singer-songwriter.
