A-222 Bereg
The A-222 Bereg (russian: Берег; "Coast") is a Russian 130 mm self-propelled coastal artillery gun, which was developed in the 1980s (entering service in 1988) and was first shown to the public in 1993 at an arms fair in Abu Dhabi. The Bereg artillery system consists of one command and control vehicle (CPU), a combat support vehicle (MOBD) and up to six weapon systems (SAU). All of them are mounted on 8×8 wheeled trucks. The AK-130 gun is mounted on a wheeled MAZ-543 8×8 vehicle and was designed to engage surface ships and fast attack boats as well as ground targets. It is capable of engaging targets within 1–2 minutes and can fire up to 12 shots per minute. As of 2003, the only operator of the system was the 40th BRAP at the Russian Navy base in Novorossiysk, part of the Black Sea Fleet. G6 Rhino
The G6, sometimes denoted as the G6 ''Rhino'', is a South African mine-protected self-propelled howitzer. It was developed as a turreted, self-propelled variant of the G5 howitzer series, mating the gun to a six-wheeled armoured chassis. Design work on the G6 began in the late 1970s to replace the obsolescent Sexton being retired from service with the artillery regiments of the South African Army. Serial production commenced between 1988 and 1999. At the time of its introduction, the G6 was considered one of the most mobile self-propelled howitzers in service. Its chassis was engineered to be mine-resistant and blastproof, allowing it to survive multiple TM-46 detonations during trials. 155mm SpGH ZUZANA
Zuzana 155 mm Gun Howitzer is a Slovak artillery system developed by KONŠTRUKTA-Defence, a.s., with a 45-caliber gun and automatic loader for loading of both projectile and charge. It is an evolution of the 152mm SpGH DANA self-propelled howitzer. The gun has a long range high accuracy and high rate of fire, it can be prepared promptly for firing, and it has a high level of mobility ensured by a modified Tatra 8×8 chassis. The design of the gun means it can use any NATO standard 155 mm ammunition. The fire control system allows for a multiple-round simultaneous-impact (MRSI) mode. One of the unique features of Zuzana is that the gun is mounted externally in between two totally separated compartments of the turret. The is Japanese wheeled self-propelled gun. The vehicle is designed to replace Japan's inventory of FH70 Towed Howitzers. Development In 2011, the Japanese Ministry of Defense (MOD) evaluated a proposal to develop a vehicle capable of networking with other systems and performing shoot-and-scoot tactics to replace the FH70. The MOD's evaluation finished in 2012 and requested 6.4 billion yen be invested into the development of the vehicle in the FY 2013 defense budget; with development and testing occurring between 2013 and 2016. Research and development of the 155 mm wheeled howitzer was granted in the FY 2013 defense budget, although the budget was lowered to 1.4 billion yen. PCL-181
The PCL-181 is a truck-mounted 155 mm self-propelled howitzer used by the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Development The PCL-181 made its first public appearance during the Chinese National Day Parade on 1 October 2019. It was designed to replace the 152 mm PL-66 towed gun-howitzer and the 130 mm Type 59-1 towed field guns used by the PLA and will complement the PLZ-05, and improve upon its functionality in many ways. Design Armament The gun has a 52-caliber barrel and is exactly the same as that of the PLZ-05 self-propelled howitzer. The PCL-161 is a truck-mounted 122 mm self-propelled howitzer used by the Chinese People's Liberation Army Ground Force. Development The PCL-161 was first unveiled while doing exercises in Tibet Autonomous Region in October 2020. It is speculated to be a successor of the 122 mm truck mounted howitzer PCL-09. Design PCL-161 features a 122 mm howitzer with semi-automatic loader and digital fire control system. The range is 22 km with conventional ammunition and 30 km with rocket-assisted projectiles.
