9 (Alice Nine Album)
''9'' is the fifth studio album by Japanese visual kei rock band Alice Nine. The album was officially released on February 22, 2012. ''9'' was released in two formats: a limited edition with an exclusive DVD and a regular edition. The DVD included with the limited edition of the album features a music video for "すべてへ", as well as a multi-angle version of the music video focusing on one of the five members of the band and a making-of documentary for the music video. The album was preceded by three singles: "Blue Flame", released in August 2011, and "Heart of Gold", released in September 2011 and finally Niji no Yuki on 21 December 2011. After the release, the band embarked on four tours of Japan entitled Alice Nine "Court of '9'" #1-4. So far they have completed the first two of these tours with relative success in all areas of Japan, managing to sell out in many medium-to-large venues nationwide. Alice Nine
is a Japanese visual kei rock band formed in Tokyo in 2004. They were a part of PS Company until 2014. The band had King Records as its record label until 2010, when they joined Tokuma Japan. Then, in 2013, the band joined Universal Music Group's Nayutawave Records. They shortened their name to A9 in 2015, but switched back to Alice Nine in 2019. Alice Nine has released six full-length records, some of which were distributed in Europe by CLJ Records, along with several EPs, singles, and DVDs. History 2004–2006: Conception and early work In August 2004, Alice Nine formed after the disbandment of the band Givuss, and the band's vocalist, Shou, and guitarist Tora continued on to search for members to form a new band. is a publisher in Japan, headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo. The company was established in 1954 by Yasuyoshi Tokuma in Minato, Tokyo. The company’s product portfolio includes music publishing, video game publishing, movies, anime, magazines, manga and books. Companies that were part of Tokuma Shoten include Studio Ghibli, Daiei Film and the record label Tokuma Japan Communications. Visual Kei
is a movement among Japanese musicians that is characterized by the use of varying levels of make-up, elaborate hair styles and flamboyant costumes, often, but not always, coupled with androgynous aesthetics, similar to Western glam rock. Some Western sources consider visual kei a music genre, with its sound usually related to glam rock, punk rock and heavy metal. However, visual kei acts play various genres, including those considered by some as unrelated to rock such as electronic, pop, etc. Other sources, including members of the movement themselves, state that it is not a music genre and that the freedom of expression, fashion, and participation in the related subculture is what exemplifies the use of the term.
