Radio broadcasting is transmission of audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience. In terrestrial radio broadcasting the radio waves are broadcast by a land-based radio station, while in satellite radio the radio waves are broadcast by a satellite in Earth orbit. The Gold Coast is a coastal city in the state of Queensland, Australia, approximately south-southeast of the centre of the state capital Brisbane. CBZF-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 99.5 MHz from Fredericton, New Brunswick and is the local Radio One station of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. History CBC Radio programming first aired in Fredericton on private affiliate CFNB. CBC's own station launched on March 4, 1964 as CBZ at 970 AM. Provincial Premier Louis Robichaud and Don Messer's troupe were on hand for the opening ceremonies which originated from the Lord Beaverbrook Hotel. In 2004, CBZ moved to the FM band on 99.5 MHz. CBX-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 90.9 FM in Edmonton, Alberta. It broadcasts the programming of the CBC Music network. CBX-FM was launched on June 27, 1979. In 2004, CBC Edmonton operations moved into a new digital broadcast facility downtown, bringing all operations of Radio and TV, under one roof. CBWK-FM is the callsign of the CBC Radio One station in Thompson, Manitoba. The station broadcasts at 100.9 MHz. The station's studios are located on Selkirk Avenue in Thompson. History The station signed on in 1980. Although separately licensed, for all intents and purposes it was a rebroadcaster of Winnipeg's CBW. It was upgraded to a full CBC production centre in 1994 to improve local service in rural northern Manitoba. CBBX-FM is a Canadian radio station. It broadcasts the Société Radio-Canada's ''Ici Musique'' network at 90.9 FM in Sudbury, Ontario. History The station was originally licensed by the CRTC in 1984. However, due to financial constraints at the CBC, the station was never launched, and the CBC was forced in 1991 to surrender all of its non-operating licenses. Omeo, Victoria
Omeo ( ) is a town in Victoria, Australia on the Great Alpine Road, east of Mount Hotham, in the Shire of East Gippsland. At the 2016 census, Omeo had a population of 406. The name is derived from an Aboriginal word for 'mountains' or 'hills'. Omeo is affectionately known as the City of the Alps with many historic buildings remaining in the town.
