The 86th Division () was created in February 1949 under ''the Regulation of the Redesignations of All Organizations and Units of the Army'', issued by Central Military Commission on November 1, 1948,《中央军委关于统一全军组织及部队番号的规定》, http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_7254c7350100xb56.html basing on the 32nd Brigade, 11th Column of the Huadong Field Army formed in May 1947. The division was a part with 29th Corps. It took part in several major battles during the Chinese Civil War, including Lianshui Campaign, Huaihai Campaign, Shanghai Campaign, Fuzhou Campaign and Zhangxia Campaign. The division was composed of 256th, 257th and 258th Infantry Regiments. In June 1950, Artillery Regiment, 86th Division was activated. The 86th Infantry Division (''86. Infanterie-Division'') was a formation of the Imperial German Army in World War I. The division was formed in November 1914 as the Wernitz Division (''Division Wernitz''), named after its commander General Theodor von Wernitz, and became the 86th Infantry Division in August 1915. The division was disbanded in 1919 during the demobilization of the German Army after World War I. Combat chronicle The 86th Infantry Division initially served on the Eastern Front. The 86th Rifle Division () was an infantry division of the Soviet Union's Red Army during the interwar period, World War II, and the early postwar period, formed twice. Interwar period By an order of the Volga Military District on 23 May 1922, the 1st Kazan Separate Rifle Brigade, formed from a rifle brigade of the 16th Rifle Division and the Saransk Reserve Brigade, was reorganized as the 1st Rifle Division. It was part of the Volga Military District and on 18 October received the honorific Kazan. Most of its units were stationed in Kazan, including the 1st Kazan Rifle Regiment. The 86th Infantry Division, also known as the Blackhawk Division, was a unit of the United States Army in World War I and World War II. Currently called the 86th Training Division, based at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, members of the division now work with Active Army, Reserve, and National Guard units to provide them with a Decisive Action Training Environment on a yearly basis. World War I The division saw no combat in World War I. The division was originally organized on 25 August 1917 at Camp Grant in Rockford, Illinois.
