80 Steps To Jonah
''80 Steps to Jonah'' is a 1969 American drama film directed by Gerd Oswald, written by Frederick Louis Fox, and starring Wayne Newton, Jo Van Fleet, Keenan Wynn, Diana Ewing, Mickey Rooney and Sal Mineo. It was released by Warner Bros. in December 1969. Plot Mark Jonah Winters (Wayne Newton) is a migrant worker who hitches a ride with Jerry Taggart (Sal Mineo). A car crash kills Taggert, and when the police arrive on the scene Jonah learns he had been riding in a stolen car. He is accused of car theft and, since he believes he cannot prove his innocence, he flees before he can be arrested. Jonah spends the night sleeping in a field, and awakes to find four blind children, staying at a nearby blind camp. He meets camp housekeeper Nonna (Jo Van Fleet) and camp director Tracy (Diana Ewing), who believe him to be the handyman they were expecting. Gerd Oswald
Gerd Oswald (June 9, 1919 – May 22, 1989) was a German director of American films and television. Biography Born in Berlin, Oswald was the son of German film director Richard Oswald and actress Käthe Oswald. He worked as a child actor before emigrating to the United States in 1938. Early production jobs at low-budget studios like Monogram Pictures prepared Oswald for a directorial career. Jackie Kahane (1921-2001) was a stand-up comedian, actor and writer. Kahane was born on 29 September 1921 in '' Narajow'', Galicia, which is in present day Ukraine. He was most notable for working with Elvis Presley from 1972 until his death in 1977, during which time he was once booed off the stage in Madison Square Garden due to the crowds impatience to see Presley perform.
