''800'' is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language biographical sports film based on the life and career of Sri Lankan international cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan, the highest wicket-taker in the history of cricket. The film is directed by M.S. Sripathy, written by M.S. Sripathy and Shehan Karunatilaka, produced by Movie Train Motion Pictures and Vivek Rangachari, and presented by Sridevi Movies, Sivalenka Krishna Prasad. It stars Madhur Mittal in the lead role. Shehan Karunatilaka (born 1975) is a Sri Lankan writer. He grew up in Colombo, studied in New Zealand and has lived and worked in London, Amsterdam and Singapore. His 2010 debut novel '' Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew'' won the Commonwealth Book Prize, the DSC Prize, the Gratiaen Prize and was adjudged the second greatest cricket book of all time by ''Wisden''. Mahima Nambiar is an Indian actress who appears in Tamil and Malayalam films. Early life and career Nambiar hails from Kasaragod, Kerala.
