''8-pallo'' ( en, 8-ball) is a 2013 Finnish film directed by Aku Louhimies and based on a crime novel ''Elävien kirjoihin'' by Marko Kilpi. Plot The film tells the story of a single mother Pike (Jessica Grabowsky) who, having just been released from prison, is trying to start her life anew. When her former boyfriend Lalli (Eero Aho) comes back from abroad, it opens a window into a past that Pike wants to put behind her. Aku Louhimies (2009) Aku Louhimies (born 3 July 1968) is a Finnish film director and screenwriter. He has directed feature films, documentary films, commercials and music videos. His international breakthrough was the 2016 serial drama '' Rebellion''. He has directed and produced the 2017 war film '' The Unknown Soldier'' which is the most expensive feature film ever made in Finland. Education Aku attended school in the United States, graduating from Billings West High School in Montana. She was nominated for the Jussi Award in the category of Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the 2011 film ''Missä kuljimme kerran''. In 2014, she was nominated a second time for the Jussi Award in the same category for her lead role in ''8-pallo''. Grabowsky graduated from the Helsinki Theatre Academy in 2007. Mikko Johannes Leppilampi (born 22 September 1978 in Pälkäne, Finland) is a Finnish actor, musician, and TV host. He is the son of Jukka Leppilampi (born 1954), a Finnish gospel musician.
