Cheran (director)
Cheran (born 12 December 1970) is an Indian film director, producer, actor and lyricist known for his works in Tamil cinema. He is a four time National Film Award winner for ''Vetri Kodi Kattu'' (2000), ''Autograph'' (2004) and ''Thavamai Thavamirundhu'' (2005). He has also won five Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and six South Filmfare Awards. ''Eega'' () is a 2012 Indian Telugu-language fantasy action film written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli. The film was produced by Sai Korrapati Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram with an estimated budget of 30–40 crore (US$6–7 million). It was simultaneously filmed in Tamil language with the title ''Naan Ee'' (). ''Kumki'' () is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language musical adventure romantic drama film written and directed by Prabhu Solomon. It was presented by N. Lingusamy and produced by N. Subash Chandra Bose, under the banner Thirrupathi Brothers, and distributed by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under the banner Studio Green. It features Vikram Prabhu, making his acting debut, while Lakshmi Menon, Thambi Ramaiah and Ashvin Raja appear in other prominent roles. The story revolves around a mahout and his trained Kumki elephant, who is used to guide other wild animals to minimize the destruction of properties and fields of nearby villages. Prabhu Solomon
Prabhu Solomon (born 7 May 1969) is an Indian film director who has primarily worked on Tamil films. After making his debut in 1999, he had a middling career before rising to prominence with the success of the romantic tragedy film ''Mynaa'' (2010). Career Early career: 1991-2009 Solomon hails from Neyveli, Tamil Nadu and was a regular at the town's only cinema hall, which fostered his passion for films. He attended St. Paul's Matriculation Higher Secondary School, after which he completed a master's degree in English literature, before relocating to Chennai. ''Thadaiyara Thaakka'' () is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni, starring Arun Vijay, Mamta Mohandas and Rakul Preet Singh. The title is derived from a devotional song titled ''Kanda Shasti Kavasam''. The film follows a taxi driver who is suspected of attacking a don and goes on the run as the don's brother and the gang start chasing after him. Magizh Thirumeni is an Indian film director who has worked Tamil language films.
