70th Golden Globe Awards
The 70th Golden Globe Awards honoring the best in film and television of 2012, was broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on January 13, 2013, by NBC. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler co-hosted. Nominations were announced on December 13 by Jessica Alba, Megan Fox and Ed Helms. The Cecil B. DeMille Award, honoring the lifetime achievements of actors and filmmakers, was announced on November 1, 2012, with Jodie Foster being the latest recipient of that trophy. The Beverly Hilton
The Beverly Hilton is a hotel located on an property at the intersection of Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards in Beverly Hills, California. The Beverly Hilton has hosted many awards shows, charity benefits, and entertainment and motion picture industry events, and is particularly known as the venue of the annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony. History Conrad Hilton opened the Beverly Hilton in 1955. American architect Welton Becket designed the hotel as a showpiece with 582 rooms. Since 1961, the hotel's International Ballroom has hosted the Golden Globe Awards ceremony, presented annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. In 1975, 50% of the property was sold to Prudential Insurance Company forming a partnership with the Hilton Hotels Corporation.
