6th Legislature Of The French Fifth Republic
The French legislative elections took place on 12 and 19 March 1978 to elect the sixth National Assembly of the Fifth Republic. On 2 April 1974, President Georges Pompidou died. The non-Gaullist center-right leader Valéry Giscard d'Estaing was elected to succeed him. Because the Gaullist UDR was the largest party in the pro-Giscard majority in the Assembly, Giscard chose Jacques Chirac to lead the cabinet. This period was one of renovation for Gaullism. The presidential will to "govern towards the center" and to promote a "modern liberal society" disconcerted the Gaullist party. The Abortion Act and the reduction of the age of majority to 18 years worried a part of the conservative electorate. Furthermore, a personal conflict opposed the two heads of the executive. Below is a list of members of the 6th National Assembly of Namibia. They were selected by their parties based on the results of the 2014 parliamentary election. The members were in the National Assembly from 21 March 2015 until 21 March 2020. Members were chosen by their parties. Parties were voted in via proportional representation. This National Assembly was inaugurated on 20 March 2015. Like each of the previous National Assemblies, it was led by the South West Africa People's Organization. The 6th National Assembly had 104 seats, up from 72 seats in all previous assemblies. 96 candidates were elected according to party lists. President Hage Geingob appointed eight additional members after taking office. The 6th National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was a bicameral legislature inaugurated on 5 June 2007 and ran its course till 6 June 2011. The assembly comprises the Senate and the House of Representatives. 360 representatives were elected as member of the House of Representative while 109 members were elected as member of the senate, making a total of 469 members all together.
