6th Armoured Division (Pakistan)
The 6th Armoured Division is a Pakistan Army armoured division currently based in Gujranwala, in Punjab Province. History Formation The division was originally an armoured brigade known as the 100 Independent Armoured Brigade Group. Armoured Division
A division is a large military unit or formation, usually consisting of between 6,000 and 25,000 soldiers. In most armies, a division is composed of several regiments or brigades; in turn, several divisions typically make up a corps. Historically, the division has been the default combined arms unit capable of independent operations. Smaller combined arms units, such as the American regimental combat team (RCT) during World War II, were used when conditions favored them. OF-6 Pakistan Army
An officer of one-star rank is a senior commander in many of the armed services holding a rank described by the NATO code of OF-6. The term is also used by some armed forces which are not NATO members. Typically, one-star officers hold the rank of commodore, flotilla admiral, senior colonel, brigadier general, brigadier, or in the case of those air forces with a separate rank structure, air commodore. Officers of one-star rank are either the most junior of the flag, general and air officer ranks, or are not considered to hold the distinction at all. The Pakistan Army (, ) is the Army, land service branch of the Pakistan Armed Forces. Iftikhar Janjua
Major General Iftikhar Khan Janjua ( ur, ) (died December 9, 1971) of the Pakistan Army is one of the most senior Pakistani officers to have been killed in action. He is known in Pakistan as the hero of Rann of Kutch, as he was a brigadier in command of 6 Brigade, during the fighting in April 1965 prior to the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965#Pre war escalation, Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. He was killed in a helicopter crash, in Kashmir, during the Battle of Chamb while in command of 23 Infantry Division during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. Abrar Hussain (general)
Major General Abrar Hussain (1918–1992) was a Pakistani senior army officer who served in World War II and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Early life Major General Abrar Hussain was born on 2 September 1918 in a Taluqdar family of Oudh. He was educated at La Martinière College and Colvin Taluqdars' College where he excelled in both academics and sports. His excellent personal conduct and exemplary character led the College Principal to declare him as :''"the best boy who has passed through my hands in 10 years."'' These qualities would continue to be the hallmark of Abrar Hussain for the rest of his eventful life. Lieutenant General Fazle Haq (Pashto/ Urdu language: فضل حق; (10 September 1928 – 3 October 1991)), was a high-ranking general in the Pakistan Army, and the former martial law administrator (MLA) of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. He was the "Corps-Commander" of the XI Corps, and commanded all the Pakistan Army assets assigned in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province. He commanded the combatant brigades, and supervised the clandestine covert network during the Soviet–Afghan War. The Order of King Abdulaziz is a Saudi Arabian order of merit. The order was named after Abdulaziz Al Saud, founder of the modern Saudi state.
