60th Filmfare Awards
The 60th Filmfare Awards were held to honor the best films of 2014 from the Hindi-language film industry on 31 January 2015 at the Yash Raj Studio in Mumbai. The ceremony was hosted by Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and Kapil Sharma. ''Queen'' led the ceremony with 13 nominations, followed by ''Haider'' and ''Highway'' with 9 nominations each. ''Queen'' won 6 awards, including Best Film, Best Director (for Vikas Bahl) and Best Actress (for Kangana Ranaut), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony. ''Haider'' was the runner-up of the ceremony with 5 awards, including Best Actor (for Shahid Kapoor), Best Supporting Actor (for Kay Kay Menon) and Best Supporting Actress (for Tabu). Yash Raj Films (YRF) is an Indian film production and distribution company founded by veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra in 1970. It mainly produces and distributes Hindi and Punjabi films. Rajat Kapoor (born 11 February 1961) is an Indian actor, filmmaker and playwright who works in Hindi cinema. Kapoor was born in Delhi, India. He mainly focused on acting at first. In 2013 he joined the theatre group Chingari in Delhi, later moving to Pune to attend the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Krishna Kumar Menon (born 2 October 1966), better known by the stage name Kay Kay Menon, is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Hindi cinema, and also in Gujarati, Tamil, Marathi and Telugu cinema. Early life Menon was born in a Nair family in Thiruvananthapuram and raised in Ambarnath and Pune, Maharashtra. He studied at the St. Joseph High School in Khadki, Pune.
