6th District Council Of Hong Kong
The Sixth District Councils of Hong Kong ( zh, t=香港第六屆區議會) was the meeting of the District councils of Hong Kong, local councils of the Government of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. The membership of the council is based on the 2019 Hong Kong local elections, 2019 election. The term of the session is from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2023. The pro-democracy camp in conjunction with the localist camp achieved its biggest landslide victory in the history of Hong Kong, gaining absolute majority in votes and electoral seats in all of the 18 District Councils. The election was widely viewed as a ''de facto'' referendum on the 2019–20 Hong Kong protests. 2020 Hong Kong Pro-democracy Primaries
The 2020 Hong Kong pro-democracy primaries were held on 11 and 12 July 2020 for selecting the numbers of pro-democracy candidates for the subsequently postponed 2020 Legislative Council election to maximise the chance for the pro-democrats to achieve a majority in the 70-seat Legislative Council. With a turnout of more than 600,000, which equals to nearly half of votes received by the pro-democracy camp in the 2016 general election, it was the most-participated primary held in the history of Hong Kong since the 1997 handover, despite the SAR government's threats of the organisers' potential breaching of the newly imposed national security law. Ted Hui
Ted Hui Chi-fung ( zh, t=許智峯; born 8 June 1982) is a Hong Kong politician. He formerly represented the Chung Wan constituency in the Central and Western District Council, and formerly he was the Legislative Councillor for the Hong Kong Island constituency. He announced his self-exile in Denmark and withdrawal from the Democratic Party in December 2020. Personal life and education Hui was born in Hong Kong and raised in Tuen Mun. Sin Chung-kai
Sin Chung-kai (; born 15 June 1960) is a former member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council. He was the chairman and a member of Kwai Tsing District Council for the Wah Lai constituency. He was one of the two vice-chairmen of the Democratic Party until December 2012, and now serves as a member of the Executive Committee. Leung Yiu-chung
Leung Yiu-chung (, born 19 May 1953) is a Hong Kong politician. He is a member of the pro-labour Neighbourhood and Worker's Service Centre, part of the pan-democracy camp, and a former long-time member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. He represented the New Territories West geographical constituency between 1998 and 2016, and the District Council (Second) functional constituency between 2016 and 2020. Tiffany Yuen Ka-wai ( zh, link=no, t=袁嘉蔚; born 30 September 1993) is a Hong Kong activist and politician, who has been a member of the Southern District Council for Tin Wan (constituency), Tin Wan since 2020. She was the vice chairperson of Demosistō before resigning from the party in 2018. Lester Shum O-fai ( zh, t=岑敖暉; born 11 June 1993) is a Hong Kong social activist and politician. He was a leader of the 2014 pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong and served as deputy secretary-general of the Hong Kong Federation of Students (HKFS) from April 2014 to March 2015. Cheng Tat-hung (; born 20 October 1988) is a Hong Kong politician, formerly affiliated with the Civic Party. He is a former member of the Eastern District Council for Tanner since 2016 to 2021. Fergus Leung Fong-wai (; born 3 April 1997) is a Hong Kong politician formerly serving as a member of the Central and Western District Council, representing Kwun Lung. Leung ran as an independent localist in the 2019 District Council elections and won his seat with 50.69% of the vote. Erick Tsang Kwok-wai (; born 1 September 1963) is a Hong Kong government official.
