''5 (Murder by Numbers)'' is the eleventh mixtape by American rapper 50 Cent, released digitally in 2012. It was originally meant to be his fifth studio album, a follow-up to 2009's '' Before I Self Destruct''. Due to tensions with Interscope Records, the album was released as a mixtape. Curtis James Jackson III (born July 6, 1975), known professionally as 50 Cent, is an American rapper, actor, and businessman. Born in the South Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, Jackson began pursuing a musical career in 2000, when he produced ''Power of the Dollar'' for Columbia Records; however, days before the planned release, he was shot, and the album was never released.
