56th Motorized Infantry Brigade (People's Republic Of China)
The 29th Division, now as the 56th Heavy Combined Arms Brigade is a military formation of the People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China. It is now one of six combined arms brigades of the PLA 76th Group Army. It is the unit that experienced the most times of unit transferring in the PLA Ground Force. The 29th Division () was created In February 1949 under ''the Regulation of the Redesignations of All Organizations and Units of the Army'', issued by Central Military Commission on November 1, 1948, basing on the 6th Brigade, 2nd Column of PLA Zhongyuan Field Army. Its history could be traced to 1st Regiment of Eastern Forward Column, 129th Division of Eighth Route Army, formed in December 1937. The division is part of 10th Corps. Qiu Shaoyun
Qiu Shaoyun (; June 1, 1926 – October 12, 1952) was born in a small village named Qiūjiāgōu (邱家沟) in Guānjiàn township (关溅乡) (now called Shàoyún town, 少云镇) of Tongliang county, Sichuan province (after 1997 Tongliang became part of Chongqing). He joined the People's Liberation Army in 1949 and earned recognition in the campaigns that were waged to exterminate bandits. Early 1951, Qiu signed up with the People's Volunteer Army taking part in the Korean War. In October 1952, Qiu died as a martyr in the Korean War, and is considered by the Chinese government to be a war hero. In the struggle for Hill 391, Qiu and his squad mates crawled closer to the enemy position, using hay and twigs as natural camouflage. The UN troops used incendiary bombs, dropped by airplanes, to try and smoke out the Chinese units. 47th Group Army
The 47th Group Army was a group army (corps-sized formation) of the People's Liberation Army It was stationed at Lintong District, Xi'an, Shaanxi as part of the Lanzhou Military Region. It was disbanded in 2016-17, during the Chinese military reforms which had begun two years earlier. The 160th Division was created in March 1949 basing on the 1st Training Division of Northeastern Military Region. The division became a part of 47th Corps. In August 1949 the division was disbanded. Independent Division of Hubei Provincial Military District () was formed in September 1966 from the Public Security Contingent of Hubei province.
