55 Stories
''55 Stories'' is the first solo studio album by American hip hop producer DJ Mayonnaise. It was released on Anticon in 1999. Production All of the records used on the album are rock music or jazz, mostly from the late 1960s to mid 1970s. In a 2008 interview, DJ Mayonnaise said: "I made ''55 Stories'' in one shot from start to finish. I had no blueprint or pre-conceived idea. All I did was made a mixtape album on a borrowed Tascam 4-track recorder. I went back and did some small edits after I was done, but the structure and song order was a straight shot. I just made an intro and recorded it. After that I made a beat and recorded that and scratched over it. I just repeated that process until I hit somewhere around 55 minutes (hence the title)." Critical reception Tadah of ''Urban Smarts'' gave the album a favorable review, writing, "Maybe we just were stuck within the hoopla that's surrounding the Anticon emcees, that we totally forgot that this gathering also has some of the il ...

Instrumental Hip Hop
Hip hop production is the creation of hip hop music in a recording studio. While the term encompasses all aspects of hip hop music creation, including recording the rapping of an MC, a turntablist or DJ providing a beat, playing samples and "scratching" using record players and the creation of a rhythmic backing track, using a drum machine or sequencer, it is most commonly used to refer to recording the instrumental, non-lyrical and non-vocal aspects of hip hop. Music production Hip hop producers may be credited as the record producer or songwriter; they may also supervise recording sessions. Hip hop instrumentals are colloquially referred to as beats or musical compositions, while the composer is called either a programmer, songwriter or beat maker. In the studio, the hip hop producer often functions as both the composer and as a traditional record producer. They are sometimes called Orchestrators, P. Diddy is an example of one, and they are ultimately responsible for the fi ...

Still Alive (album)
''Still Alive'' is the second solo studio album by American hip hop producer DJ Mayonnaise. It was released on Anticon in 2007. Critical reception Stewart Mason of AllMusic gave the album 3.5 stars out of 5, saying, "DJ Mayonnaise does a fair job of keeping the potentially over-familiar arrangements and samples from coalescing into just another bit of negligible atmosphere for a boutique hotel bar near you, through unexpectedly tuneful melodies like 'Easily Distracted' and the album's one stylistic departure, the sneering Bush slam 'Strateegery.'" Lana Cooper of '' PopMatters'' commented that "''Still Alive'' isn't a bad sophomore effort, but it's certainly not an epic masterwork that requires eight years in the making." She added, "While there are definite moments that shine, there are others that take a leap backwards or just stay floating somewhere in the middle." On May 14, 2007, the album was included on '' XLR8R''s "Office Top Ten Album Picks" list. Track listing Perso ...

Hip Hop Albums By American Artists
In vertebrate anatomy, hip (or "coxa"Latin ''coxa'' was used by Celsus in the sense "hip", but by Pliny the Elder in the sense "hip bone" (Diab, p 77) in medical terminology) refers to either an anatomical region or a joint. The hip region is located lateral and anterior to the gluteal region, inferior to the iliac crest, and overlying the greater trochanter of the femur, or "thigh bone". In adults, three of the bones of the pelvis have fused into the hip bone or acetabulum which forms part of the hip region. The hip joint, scientifically referred to as the acetabulofemoral joint (''art. coxae''), is the joint between the head of the femur and acetabulum of the pelvis and its primary function is to support the weight of the body in both static (e.g., standing) and dynamic (e.g., walking or running) postures. The hip joints have very important roles in retaining balance, and for maintaining the pelvic inclination angle. Pain of the hip may be the result of numerous causes, i ...
