53A is a Singaporean pop/rock band formed by lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Sara Wee and lead guitarist Alvin Khoo in 2003. The band has been regular performers at Singaporean bars such as Timbre @ The Substation, Harry's Bar @ Boat Quay and Hive by Wala Wala. History 2003-2010: Formation, ''Settle the Kettle'' In 2003, Alvin Khoo was introduced to Sara Wee through a mutual friend. Wee, who had been trained in classical music, and Khoo, who played the guitar back in secondary school, bonded over the love for music, and started jamming songs together in the attic of a shop along Haji Lane, the unit number of which they got the band name from. The duo went on to perform together in the live music scene for nearly six years until they recruited their friends, Bani Hidir and Irwan Shah, on bass guitar and drums respectively. Singapore National Day Parade
The National Day Parade (NDP) is an annual parade held in Singapore to commemorate its independence. Held annually on 9 August, it is the main public celebration of National Day, consists of a parade incorporating contingents of the Singapore Armed Forces, Ministry of Home Affairs, local institutions and community groups, followed by a cultural presentation culminating with a fireworks display. First held on 9 August 1966 to mark the one-year anniversary of the Proclamation of Singapore, it has been held annually since then. The Click Five
The Click Five (often abbreviated as TC5) was an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. The original members, most of them students at Berklee College of Music, started on January 1, 2004, and played in various local venues. They then quickly got the attention of talent scout Wayne Sharp (who had worked with the power pop group Candy). The Click Five made their first recording, a two-song demo session, in early 2004 after successful local touring. They released their debut album ''Greetings from Imrie House'' in 2005. After vocalist Eric Dill left the group, he was replaced by Kyle Patrick who debuted on their second album '' Modern Minds and Pastimes'' in 2007. Foo Fighters
Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1994. Foo Fighters was initially formed as a one-man project by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. Following the success of the eponymous debut album, Grohl (lead vocals, guitar) recruited a band consisting of Nate Mendel (bass guitar), William Goldsmith (drums), and Pat Smear (guitar). John Mayer
John Clayton Mayer ( ; born October 16, 1977) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Electrico is a pop rock and indie Singaporean band originally formed as Electric Company in Singapore in 1996. This band is still active with the present line-up which includes David Tan, Desmond Goh, William Lim Jr. History 1996–1997: Formation Electric Company was formed when David Tan, Keith Colaco, Desmond Goh and William Lim Jr. got together to entertain for a fun fair at their neighbourhood church. The band initially practised in an abandoned steel cargo container.
