50th National Film Awards
The 50th National Film Awards, presented by Directorate of Film Festivals, the organisation set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India to felicitate the best of Indian Cinema released in the year 2002. Awards were announced by the committee headed by Prakash Jha, Rajiv Mehrotra and Udaya Tara Nayar for the feature films, non-feature films and books written on Indian cinema, respectively, on 26 July 2003; whereas the award ceremony took place on 29 December 2003 and awards were given away by then President of India, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Awards Awards were divided into feature films, non-feature films and books written on Indian cinema. Lifetime Achievement Award Feature films Feature films were awarded at All India as well as regional level. For 50th National Film Awards, a Bengali film, ''Mondo Meyer Upakhyan'' won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film; whereas a Tamil film, ''Kannathil Muthamittal'' won the maximum number of awards (6). ...

Directorate Of Film Festivals
The Directorate of Film Festivals in India was an organisation that initiated and presented the International Film Festival of India, the National Film Awards and the Indian Panorama. Although the Directorate helped appoint members of the jury panels each year, it had no input on which films are selected for consideration and which films ultimately win awards at the various functions it initiates. Arun Kaul
Arun Kaul (12 August 1933 – 21 July 2007) was a noted Kashmiri film maker and screenwriter. His film Diksha (1991), won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie for the year 1992. In the same year, he went on to win the Golden Lotus Award for the Best Hindi Film for ''Diksha'' (1992) at the National Film Awards India. He was the screenplay assistant to veteran filmmaker Gulzar, for the films ''Ijaazat'' (1987) and ''Lekin'' (1990). He was one of producers of the noted Science Serial ''TURNING POINT''. He also produced a Serial on Kashmir called ''KASHMIR FILE''. Kaul also wrote screenplay for the film Yash Chopra's Chandni (1989). He produced a film named '' Ek Adhuri Kahani'' directed by Mrinal Sen, a Bengali film maker in 1972. He was a key figure in Film Society movement. Kaul died on 21 July 2007, in New Delhi. Patalghar
''Patalghar'' ( bn, পাতাল ঘর "The Underground Chamber" ) is a Bengali science fiction film based on the story of same name by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay and directed by Abhijit Chaudhuri. Plot 150 years in the past, Aghor Sen, a genius scientist living in the village of Nischintipur invents a device that generates sound waves which can put any living being to sleep. The alien Vik exiled from the planet Nyapcha, lands with his space shuttle on the outskirts of Nischintipur. He gets to know about the machine & tries to steal it but Aghor puts him to sleep. With Aghor's death the instrument is lost. 150 years later i.e. in the present day Dr. Bhootnath Nondy finds Aghor Sen's diary mentioning this device. Bhootnath deciphers the diary at a science seminar announcing his plea to search for it. Begum, a gang leader, sends her goons after Bhootnath to get that machine. Indira Gandhi Award For Best Debut Film Of A Director
The Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director is one of the National Film Awards presented annually by the Directorate of Film Festivals, the organization set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India. It is one of several awards presented for feature films and awarded with Golden Lotus (Swarna Kamal). The award was instituted in 1980, at 28th National Film Awards and awarded annually for films produced in the year across the country, in all Indian languages; Hindi (11 Awards), Bengali and Malayalam (8 Awards each), Tamil (5 Awards), Marathi (3 Awards), Assamese, English and Telugu (2 each), Haryanvi, Jasari, Karbi and Ladakhi (1 Each). Buddhadeb Dasgupta
Buddhadeb Dasgupta (11 February 1944 – 10 June 2021) was an Indian filmmaker and poet best known for his Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali-language films like ''Bagh Bahadur'', ''Tahader Katha'', ''Charachar'' and ''Uttara (film), Uttara''. Shyamaprasad
Shyamaprasad (born 7 November 1960) is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter and actor from Kerala. Career Shyamaprasad was born on 7 November 1960 at Palakkad, as the younger son of O. Rajagopal and Santhakumari. He was named after Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of Bharatiya Jan Sangh. He did his schooling at Basel Evangelical Mission Higher Secondary School, Palakkad.
