50 Year Anniversary World Tour is a Neil Diamond tour that marked the 50th Anniversary of Diamond's first hit single, "Solitary Man," released in 1966. It began in Fresno, California on April 7, 2017, and concluded at The O2 Arena in London on October 19, 2017. The tour began just after the March release of a 50-song, three-disc career-spanning box set titled ''Neil Diamond 50 – 50th Anniversary Collection.'' "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" is a song written by Neil Diamond with Alan and Marilyn Bergman for the daily TV sitcom ''All That Glitters''. The song was intended to be the theme song, but Norman Lear, the show's creator, changed the concept of the show and the song was no longer appropriate. ''Tap Root Manuscript'' is the sixth studio album recorded by Neil Diamond, released in October 1970. It was one of the most experimental albums he ever recorded, featuring rock music fused with prominent African sounds and instruments. The album was a commercial success, going Gold in three months, eventually certified Platinum by the RIAA. The conductors and arrangers were Lee Holdridge, Marty Paich and Larry Muhoberac. The cover photo was taken at Luxford House, Crowborough, East Sussex. The house was occupied at the time by rock music manager Tony Stratton-Smith.
