52nd Mountain Motorized Infantry Brigade (People's Republic Of China)
The 52nd Army Division, which consists of the 52nd Mountain Motorized Infantry Brigade and the 52nd Mountain Combined Arms Brigade, was originally the 149th Division. It is an infantry formation of the People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China, and is currently a mountain unit stationed near India. History The 149th division () was formed in January 1949 under ''the Regulation of the Redesignations of All Organizations and Units of the Army'', issued by Central Military Commission on November 1, 1948. Based on the same structure as the 21st Temporary Division, the 60th Corps of the Republic of China Army defected during Liaoshen Campaign. Under the flag of the 149th, it took part in other battles of the Chinese civil war. 149th Motorized Infantry Division (2nd Formation)(People's Republic Of China)
The 52nd Army Division () was activated in May 1965 from the Tibet Unit 419 (). The division was composed of: *154th Infantry Regiment; *155th Infantry Regiment; *156th Infantry Regiment; *309th Artillery Regiment. In August 1969, the division swapped its designations and positions with the 149th Army Division from the 50th Army Corps, and became the 149th Army Division ()(2nd Formation). All its regiments were re-designated as the 445th, 446th and 447th Infantry Regiments. Its 309th Artillery Regiment was renamed as Artillery Regiment, 149th Army Division. The division then stationed in Leshan, Sichuan province and attached to the 50th Army Corps. From February to March 1979 the division took part in the Sino-Vietnamese War. The Republic of China Army (ROCA), previously known as the Chinese Nationalist Army or Nationalist Revolutionary Army and unofficially as the Taiwanese Army, is the largest branch of the Republic of China Armed Forces. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is the principal military force of the People's Republic of China and the armed wing of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
