The 4th Gaumee Film Awards ceremony honored the best Maldivian films released between 2003 and 2005. The ceremony was held on 29 December 2007. Gaumee Film Awards
The Gaumee Film Awards aka Dhivehi Film Awards are presented by National Centre for the Arts to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Maldivian film industry. The Gaumee Film Award ceremony is the oldest film events in Maldives. The ceremony had been sponsored by various private organisations in the past as well as in present provisions. A live ceremony was broadcast to television audiences. History A meeting was arranged at MCM on 30 October 1993, once the government decides to hold a Film Festival to honor the film industry. The awards were first introduced in 1994. Out of the twenty two people invited from the fraternity, only ten people showed up for the meeting. Mariyam Nisha
Mariyam Nisha (born 19 May 1979) is a Maldivian former actress. Early life Nisha was born on 19 May 1979 in Dh. Rinbudhoo. She recalled her childhood days as a "disturbing chapter" of life where she had to refrain from enjoying with friends due to a skin problem. At the age of twelve, she got married and a year later, they were blessed with their first child. Career 1994–99: Early releases and ''Haqqu'' At the age of fourteen, Nisha made her screen debut with the video song "Gendhanyaa Gendhavaashey" alongside Malik Mohamed. Featured in a television programme titled ''Mahrabu'' the song was liked by the audience topping several charts during the time of its release. Khadheeja Ibrahim Didi is a Maldivian film actress. Aishath Shiranee
Aishath Shiranee (born 16 January 1975) is a Maldivian former film actress. Shiranee is the recipient of several awards, including one Gaumee Film Award and three Aafathis Awards. In 2001, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Sheereen Abdul Wahid is a Maldivian film actress. Career Wahid made her film debut in Ali Shameel's drama film '' Hithi Nimun'' (2001) featuring opposite Mohamed Shavin and Mariyam Nisha, which follows the storyline of a stubborn young man who abandons his girlfriend when he discovers about her pregnancy. Wahid collaborated with Amjad Ibrahim for his romantic horror film ''Dhonkamana'' (2003) which depicts the romantic relationship between a young man (played by Yoosuf Shafeeu) and an old woman (played by Fauziyya Hassan). Sheela Najeeb
Sheela Najeeb (born 7 September 1974) is a Maldivian film actress. She has established a career in Maldivian Film Industry and is the recipient of several awards, one Gaumee Film Awards and two Maldivian Film Awards. She made her screen debut alongside Junaid in a music video "Nudhaashey Magey Loabivaa" and featured in several films afterwards. In 2001, she gained wider recognition for the lead role in the romance ''Hiiy Edhenee''; a remake of ''Dhadkan'', followed by Abdul Fattah's '' Aan... Edhathuru
''Edhathuru'' is a 2004 Maldivian horror film directed by Yoosuf Shafeeu. Produced by Mohamed Abdulla under Mai Dream Entertainments, the film stars Mohamed Shavin, Sheereen Abdul Wahid, Ali Ahmed, Lufshan Shakeeb, Fathmath Neelam, Nadhiya Hassan, Ibrahim Sobah and Yoosuf Solih in pivotal roles. Ali Ahmed (actor)
Ali Ahmed was a Maldivian film actor. Career In 2003, Ahmed played the role of a greedy man, in the Abdul Faththaah-directed critically acclaimed television series, ''Thiyey Mihithuge Vindhakee'' (2003) which was considered as one of the best series production in television industry. Mohamed Shavin is a Maldivian film actor. Career In 2000, he played the role of Fayaz, an ignorant husband who is deeply in love with a patient suffering from congenital heart disease in Abdul Faththaah's television drama series '' Dhoapatta''. Ahmed Asim is an Maldivian actor, editor, director, and writer who works in Dhivehi films. Career Asim made his screen debut with a video single alongside Jamsheedha Ahmed.
