45th NAACP Image Awards
The 45th NAACP Image Awards, presented by the NAACP, honored outstanding representations and achievements of people of color in motion pictures, television, music and literature during the 2013 calendar year. The awards were presented in two separate ceremonies. The first ceremony honoring non-televised categories took place on Friday, February 21, 2014 and was hosted by Rickey Smiley and Kimberly Elise. The second ceremony was broadcast live on TV One on Saturday, February 22, 2014 and was hosted by Anthony Anderson. All nominees are listed below with the winners listed in bold. Rickey Smiley
Broderick Dornell Smiley (born August 10, 1968) is an American stand-up comedian, television host, actor, and radio personality, known for his prank phone calls. The calls feature Smiley disguising his voice and carrying on a conversation with the recipient of the call. He is the host of the nationally syndicated ''Rickey Smiley Morning Show'' based in Atlanta from its flagship affiliate WHTA "Hot 107.9". The Call (2013 Film)
''The Call'' is a 2013 American psychological crime thriller film directed by Brad Anderson and written by Richard D'Ovidio. The film stars Abigail Breslin as Casey Welson, a teenage girl kidnapped by a mysterious serial killer and Halle Berry as Jordan Turner, a 9-1-1 operator, still suffering emotionally from a prior failed botched 9-1-1 call, who receives Casey's call.
