45 RPM (album)
''45 RPM'' is the debut album by Paul van Dyk. It was released in Germany on the MFS label on December 5, 1994. It was then released on Deviant Records in the UK and Mute Records in the US in 1998. Initial copies of the German album came with a bonus disc of remixes Van Dyk had done for other artists called ''45 Remixes Per Minute''. Among the artists featured on this disc were New Order and Inspiral Carpets. Dance 2 Trance were a German techno duo composed of Rolf Ellmer and DJ Dag Lerner. They had a small number of hit singles in the mid-1990s and were associated with Jam & Spoon. History Musical career DJ Dag and Jam El Mar met in 1990, when they decided to work together. Their first release was in the same year, a promo named "Dance 2 Trance" on the Suck Me Plasma label, the release contained two tracks ("Dance 2 Trance" and "We Came In Peace"). They got their commercial break in 1992 with the release of " Power of American Natives" with vocals from Linda Rocco. The song sold 250,000 records and was awarded a gold disc. Inspiral Carpets are an English rock band, part of the late-1980s/early-1990s Madchester movement. Formed in Oldham in 1980, the band's most successful lineup featured frontman Tom Hingley, drummer Craig Gill, guitarist Graham Lambert, bassist Martyn Walsh and keyboardist Clint Boon. Several line-ups were loosely used from 1980 until Lambert and singer Stephen Holt met at The Moor End indie disco in Oldham 1983. Holt sang on the first two independent singles. New Order are an English rock band formed in 1980 by vocalist and guitarist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook and drummer Stephen Morris. The members regrouped after the demise of their previous band Joy Division due to the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. They were joined by Gillian Gilbert on keyboards later that year.
