41st Panzergrenadier Brigade (Bundeswehr)
The 41st Panzergrenadier Brigade is a brigade of the German Army. On April 1, 1991 the 41st Homeland Security Brigade was established at Eggesin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, from the former Land Forces of the National People's Army 9th Panzer Division. On 27 June 1991 the "Vorpommern" title was awarded. In 1995, it was reclassified as Mechanized Infantry Brigade 41. After the installation of the brigade staff in 2002, the headquarters company and Panzer Battalion 413 moved to the Ferdinand von Schill barracks in Torgelow. From 1991 to 2006, the 414 Panzer Battalion was active at Spechtberg. Brigade
A brigade is a major tactical military formation that typically comprises three to six battalions plus supporting elements. It is roughly equivalent to an enlarged or reinforced regiment. Two or more brigades may constitute a division. Brigades formed into divisions are usually infantry or armored (sometimes referred to as combined arms brigades). Havelberg
Havelberg () is a town in the district of Stendal, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is situated on the Havel, and part of the town is built on an island in the centre of the river. The two parts were incorporated as a town in 1875. It has a population of 6,436 (2020). History The Bishopric of Havelberg was founded in 946, by Otto I, Holy Roman Emperor (then a prince), but the bishop tended to live in either Plattenburg or Wittstock, a few miles north of Havelberg. Puma (IFV)
The Puma is a German infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) ( or short ''SPz'') designed to replace the aging Marder IFVs currently in service with the German Army. Production of the first batch of 350 vehicles began in 2010 and was completed in August 2021. A second batch of 229 Pumas received funding. Mass production began on 6 July 2009. The companies responsible for this project are Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall Landsysteme, which created a joint venture, Projekt System Management GmbH (PSM). The Puma is one of the world's best-protected IFVs, while still having a high power-to-weight ratio. Eighteen Pumas took part in exercises in 2022, and all of them were inoperable at the end of the exercises. Hagenow
Hagenow () is a German town in the southwest of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim, 30 kilometers south of Schwerin. Its population is approximately 11,300 inhabitants (2013). Hagenow is part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Rheinmetall KZO
KZO (''Kleinflugzeug für Zielortung'', German for ''small aircraft for target acquisition'') is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with stealth characteristics manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space Airborne Solutions GmbH of Germany. Airbus Defence and Space Airborne Solutions GmbH is a joint venture of Airbus Defence and Space and Rheinmetall. A KZO system consists of 10 UAVs and 2 ground units, consisting of one control station, one radio, one launch, one maintenance vehicle with a refuelling facility for the UAVs and one recovery vehicle. The UAV is launched with a booster rocket directly out of its container. Landing is done with a parachute. The KZO's main objective is to locate mobile threats and provide target locations for artillery. KZO replaced the German Army's other main UAV, Drohne CL 289.
