4th Central Committee Of The Workers' Party Of Korea
The 4th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) was elected at the 4th Congress on 18 September 1961. and remained in session until the election of the 5th Central Committee on 13 November 1970. In between party congresses and specially convened conferences the Central Committee is the highest decision-making institution in the WPK and North Korea. Central Committee Of The Workers' Party Of Korea
The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea ( ko, 조선로동당 중앙위원회) is the highest party body between national meetings of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the ruling party of North Korea. According to WPK rules, the Central Committee is elected by the party congress and the party conference can be conferred the right to renew its membership composition. In practice, the Central Committee has the ability to dismiss and appoint new members without consulting with the wider party at its own plenary sessions. The 1st Central Committee was elected at the 1st WPK Congress in 1946. It was composed of 43 members. The numbers of Central Committee members have increased since then, with the 7th Congress in 2017 electing 235 members. The 4th Political Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), officially the Political Committee of the 4th Central Committee (4th CC), was elected in the immediate aftermath of the 4th WPK Congress on 18 September 1961 by the 4th CC's 1st Plenary Session. The 2nd Conference, held on 6 October 1966, established a Standing Committee of the Political Committee (SCPC). It sat until the 4th Congress when it was replaced by the 5th Political Committee. Kim Kwang-hyop
Kim Kwang-hyop ( ko, 김광협, 1915 – 1970) was a politician anti-Japanese activist and a military officer and politician of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (commonly, North Korea). He served as Chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army. Biography He was born in Hoeryong, North Hamgyong Province, in 1915. In 1930, at the age of 16, he moved to China and graduated from Huangpu Military Academy, where he worked as an anti-Japanese partisan. In 1935 he joined the Communist Party of China, and in 1940 he served as the second member of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army's Second Army. After the fall of the Japanese Empire, he became the commander of the military district of the Northeast Democratic Army of the pro-Soviet Provisional People's Committee of North Korea. Kim Il (politician)
Kim Il (; 20 March 1910 – 9 March 1984) was a North Korean politician who was served as Premier of North Korea from 28 December 1972 to 19 April 1976. Early life and career Kim was born on 20 March 1910, in Hamgyong Province to a poor family of peasants. Kim joined the underground Communist Party in 1932 and fought against Japanese colonial rule from 1935. After the liberation of Korea in 1945, he served as secretary of the Party Committee of Pyongan Province. He was appointed to different important military posts since 1946. Kim Il was elected to the 1st Central Committee on 24 November 1946 and remained a member until his death. After the Democratic People's Republic of Korea proclaimed independence in 1948, he was elected to the 2nd Standing Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and in 1953 he was elected to the 2nd WPK Political Committee (later renamed "Presidium"). The General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK; ) is the sole legal trade union federation in North Korea. GFTUK was formed on November 30, 1945 as the General Federation of Trade Unions of North Korea. In January 1951, it was reorganized and adopted its current name. The chairman of the central committee of GFTUK is Pak In-chol. Organization , GFTUK has 1.6 million members, down from more than 2.4 million in the 1970s.
