Ted Arnott
Theodore Calvin Arnott (born April 8, 1963) is a politician in Ontario, Canada. He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario on September 6, 1990, representing the Riding of Wellington. He is a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario and represents the Riding of Wellington—Halton Hills in the Ontario Legislature. Arnott has served as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario during the 42nd and 43rd Parliaments of Ontario. Arnott, long one of the longest-serving MPPs in the Ontario Legislature, became its longest-serving member in 2022 following the retirement of Jim Wilson and the defeat of Gilles Bisson. Algoma—Manitoulin (provincial Electoral District)
Algoma—Manitoulin is a provincial electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1934. Between 1986 and 1999, the district consisted of all of Algoma District minus two townships south of Hearst, an area of the southeast, which included Elliot Lake and everything east of it, and the city of Sault Ste. Marie. In 1996, Ontario was divided into the same electoral districts as those used for federal electoral purposes. They were redistributed whenever a readjustment took place at the federal level. In 2005, legislation was passed by the Legislature to divide Ontario into 107 electoral districts, beginning with the next provincial election in 2007. Burlington is a provincial electoral district in southwestern Ontario, Canada. It elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. It was created in 1999 from parts of Burlington South, Halton Centre, and a small part of South Oakville. When the riding was created, it included the city of Burlington east of a line following the Queen Elizabeth Way to Highway 403 to King Road and south of a line following Dundas Street to the 403 to Upper Middle Road to Walkers Line. Bruce—Grey—Owen Sound is a provincial electoral district in western Ontario, Canada. It elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. It was created in 1999 from parts of Bruce and Grey when ridings in Ontario were redistributed to match their federal counterparts. Brantford—Brant (formerly just Brant) is a provincial electoral district in southwestern, Ontario, Canada. The district elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. It was created in 1999 from all of Brantford and part of Brant—Haldimand. When the riding was created, it included the city of Brantford, the town of Paris plus the townships of Brantford and South Dumfries. In 2007, the boundaries were altered to include all of Brant County, plus that part of the Indian Reserves of Six Nations 40 and New Credit 40A located in Haldimand County. Beaches—East York is a provincial riding in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It elects one member to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. It was created in 1996 from parts of Beaches—Woodbine (95%), Don Mills (40%), and York East (20%). When the riding was created, it included the former borough of East York east of Coxwell Avenue and that part of Old Toronto east of a line following Coxwell to Gerrard Street to Greenwood Avenue to Queen Street to Leslie Street.
