3UL
3GG is an Australian commercial radio station based in Warragul, Victoria owned by Capital Radio Network. Formerly owned and operated by Resonate Broadcasting and prior, RG Capital and Macquarie Regional RadioWorks, it was acquired by the Capital Radio Network in February 2015. History 3GG first went to air in 1937 as 3UL, named after the town from which it then broadcast; Warragul. 3UL's founder was Vic Dinenny. Dinenny had earlier operated 3YB as a mobile station, broadcasting from various towns around Victoria. As more and more rural stations opened in Victoria, the concept of a mobile station became less practical. Therefore, Dinenny applied for and received licences for two non-mobile (or conventional) stations, one in Warrnambool, which kept the 3YB call sign, and the other being 3UL in Warragul. 3YB FM is a radio broadcaster based in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. It transmits on the frequency modulation radio band, at a frequency of 94.5 MHz. The station is part of the Ace Radio FM network. It has an adult contemporary music format mixed with talk such as Mornings with Neil Mitchell syndicated from 3AW. The station has one of the most unusual histories of any Australian radio station, having commenced broadcasting in 1931 as a mobile station, prior to permanently settling in Warrnambool in 1935. Peter Landy
Peter Landy (born 1943) is an Australian television presenter. Career Beginning his career in the early 1960s—after attending the Jesuit Xavier College—he started with Radio 3UL, Warragul, co-ordinating horse racing and football broadcasts. He later moved to 3UZ Melbourne, where he reported and presented the news. In 1967, he moved to 3AK and also began with TV station Channel 9. In 1971, he moved to Seven Network Melbourne sport reporting. He commentated Australian rules football ( VFL) games, tennis, boxing, and several Olympic Games, including rowing events. His personal sporting achievements were in rowing and tennis. In the 1990s, Landy returned to commentary with the Seven Network, hosting football in the late 1990s. He was also a newsreader. Don Kilgour
Donald Kilgour (born 16 April 1946) is a former Australian politician. He was the National member for Shepparton in the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1991 to 2002. Kilgour was born in Numurkah, Victoria, to Leonard Leslie Kilgour and Jean Venables. He was educated at Katamatite Primary School, Numurkah High School and Lee Murray Radio College before becoming a radio announcer on 3UL Warragul in 1965. In 1967 he moved to 3SR Shepparton, where he was also studio manager. He married Cheryl Joan Cooper on 29 March 1969, with whom he had three children. In 1974 he became a sports commentator on both radio and television. In that year he also became active in the Country Party as media manager for the state seat of Shepparton and the federal seat of Murray. Fox FM (call sign: 3FOX) is a commercial FM radio station broadcasting in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on a frequency of 101.9 MHz, and is the flagship station on Southern Cross Austereo's Hit Network. The station's transmitter is shared with the ATV-10 transmitter on top of Mount Dandenong. History Fox FM started life at 5PM on 1 August 1980.
