3Music Awards 2022
The 5th 3Music Awards was held on 26 March 2022 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, in Accra to recognize the works of artists in the year under review. It was broadcast by TV3, 3MUSIC TV, DGN and HD +. The ceremony's theme was ''''More Than Music'''', and was held in-person with an audience following the previous year's virtual ceremony. The nominees were announced on 15 February 2022 during a ceremony at the Teelande Tea Garden in Accra, Ghana. Kuami Eugene received the most nominations with 16, followed by Sarkodie who had 13 and KiDi who received 10 nominations. On 14 March, Boomplay was announced as an official partner of the awards. The media steaming service sponsored three main categories of the awards; The Artiste of the Year, African Song of the Year and Breakthrough Act of the Year. 3Music Awards
The 3 Music Award is Ghanaian music awards ceremony held annually since 2018 to celebrate Ghanaian music. It was established by the 3Music Network with Media General TV3 as broadcasters. The Multimedia group became the media right holder in the second and subsequent edition. In 2020, the Fan fest which was scheduled to take place at the Accra Polo Grounds was cancelled and a Virtual award ceremony was held from the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair La. This was because of the ban on public gathering due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kelvyn Brown (born 1 April 1991), better known by his stage name Kelvyn Boy is a Ghanaian Afrobeat singer from Assin Fosu, Central region of Ghana. He got signed to Burniton Music Group owned by Stonebwoy and due to some controversies, left the label in the year 2019. He is known for popular songs like ''Mea'', Loko, Yawa No Dey, and Momo. Kwame Nsiah-Apau (born 17 April 1976), known by his stage name Okyeame Kwame and nicknamed Rap Doctor, is a Ghanaian musician, songwriter, creative director and entrepreneur. Samuel Adu Frimpong (born 4 April 1994), popularly known as Medikal, is a Ghanaian hip hop musician born to Portia Lamptey and James Frimpong in Sowutuom, a suburb of Accra. Early life and music career He comes from Sowutuom, a suburb in Accra, Ghana. Medikal and Sarkodie had the highest nominations for the 2017 edition of the Ghana Music Awards. Emmanuel Kwamina Amonoo (born September 11) also known by the stage name Quamina MP is a Ghanaian musician and record producer. Early life Quamina MP was born on the 11th of September in Takoradi. He lived and was brought up in Mankessim where he had his basic education. He attended St Marys Senior High School for his secondary education.
