38th Cavalry Regiment (United States)
The 38th Cavalry Regiment was a regiment of the United States Army first established in 1916. It was the regimental affiliate of three reconnaissance and surveillance squadrons (1st, 2nd, 3rd) that were part of battlefield surveillance brigades. History During World War II, the 3d Reconnaissance Squadron was activated as part of the 1st Cavalry Division on 15 November 1942 at Fort Bliss, Texas. On 21 November 1943, it was redesignated as the 38th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron (Mechanized) at Exeter, England and assigned to the 102d Cavalry Regiment(Mechanized). The 38th shipped from the New York Port of Embarkation on 15 November 1943 and arrived in Scotland five days later and disembarked at the Firth of Clyde. Battlefield Surveillance Brigades In The United States Army
The battlefield surveillance brigade (BfSB) was a United States Army surveillance/reconnaissance formation introduced from 2006 to 2015. The United States Army planned for the creation and transformation of nine intelligence brigades to a 'battlefield surveillance' role in 2007. The first battlefield surveillance brigade was deployed the same year conducting Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Intelligence ( ISR) operations. However, gathering information is only a part of the challenge it faces. Along with the structural changes and intelligence capabilities, the sustainment capabilities of the brigade also changed. 504th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade
The 504th Military Intelligence Brigade (504th MIB) is located at Fort Hood, Texas. The brigade is tasked to improve the situational awareness for commanders at division level or higher, so they can adapt their units combat power for the current operations. For this the Military Intelligence Brigades can deploy unmanned aerial vehicles, signals gathering equipment, human intelligence collectors and long range surveillance patrols. Regiment
A regiment is a military unit. Its role and size varies markedly, depending on the country, service and/or a specialisation.
