36th Daytime Emmy Awards
The 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were held on Sunday, August 30, 2009, at the Orpheum Theatre, Los Angeles, California, and were televised live on The CW for the first time. The Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy Awards were presented a day earlier on August 29 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel. The televised ceremony was hosted by Vanessa L. Williams, and directed by Jeff Margolis and Debbie Palacio. The nominations were announced on May 14, 2009, partially on ''The Today Show''. Orpheum Theatre (Los Angeles, California)
The Orpheum Theatre at 842 S. Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles opened on February 15, 1926, as the fourth and final Los Angeles venue for the Orpheum vaudeville circuit. After a $3 million renovation, started in 1989, it is the most restored of the historical movie palaces in the city. Three previous theatres also bore the name Orpheum before the one at 842 Broadway was the final one with that moniker. The Orpheum has a Beaux Arts facade designed by movie theater architect G. Albert Lansburgh and has a Mighty Wurlitzer organ, installed in 1928, that is one of three pipe organs remaining in Southern California. The Orpheum theatres are named for the Greek mythological figure, Orpheus. Beauregard Aurelius "Bo" Brady is a fictional character from the NBC daytime soap opera ''Days of Our Lives''. The role has been most notably portrayed by Peter Reckell, who originated the role on May 3, 1983. Peter Paul Reckell (born May 7, 1955) is an American actor. He is best known for playing Bo Brady, a role he originated in 1983 on the NBC drama ''Days of Our Lives''. Reckell has played Bo Brady on ''Days of Our Lives'' from 1983 to 1987, 1990 to 1992, 1995 to 2012, and returned (with others) in fall 2015 as a lead up to the 50th anniversary (November 8, 1965) of the show.
