35th Signal Brigade
The 35th Corps Signal Brigade is a signal brigade in the United States Army. The brigade was previously based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and provided rapidly deployable force projection signal support, and rapid communications for Army, joint, and combined Operations. On 23 April 2007, the 35th Signal Brigade relocated to Fort Gordon, Georgia. Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (United States Army)
A shoulder sleeve insignia (often abbreviated SSI) is an embroidered patch worn on some uniforms of the United States Army. It is used by major formations of the U.S. Army; each formation has a unique formation patch. The U.S. Army is unique among the U.S. Armed Forces in that all soldiers are required to wear the patch of their headquarters as part of their military uniforms. Shoulder sleeve insignia receive their name from the fact that they are most commonly worn on the upper left sleeve of the Army Combat Uniform (ACU) and Army Green uniform. However, they can be placed on other locations, notably on the side of a helmet. Shoulder sleeve insignia worn on the upper right sleeve of Army uniforms denote former wartime service. Combined Joint Task Force 180 was a provisional multinational land formation, primarily made up of units from the United States Army, that fought in the War in Afghanistan (2001–2021), especially in the initial invasion phase of 2001-2002. It was active from May 2002 to 2003/05. It was the senior headquarters in country reporting to United States Central Command. Hurricane Andrew
Hurricane Andrew was a very powerful and destructive Category 5 Atlantic hurricane that struck the Bahamas, Florida, and Louisiana in August 1992. It is the most destructive hurricane to ever hit Florida in terms of structures damaged or destroyed, and remained the costliest in financial terms until Hurricane Irma surpassed it 25 years later. 67th Expeditionary Signal Battalion
The 67th Signal Battalion is an expeditionary signal battalion of the United States Army, part of the 35th Signal Brigade. History The 67th's activation took place May 1, 1943 in Camp Van Dorn, Mississippi 10 days ahead of its 1st birthday. The battalion relocated to the Louisiana Maneuver Area in February 1944 to augment the 97th Infantry Division during a three-month field exercise that spring. They would subsequently receive orders for the European Theater October 26, 1944; the battalion performed communications duties East and West of the Rhine River on behalf of the 82nd, 101st, and 17th Airborne divisions as well as the 94th Infantry Division. Fort Stewart
Fort Stewart is a United States Army post in the U.S. state of Georgia. It lies primarily in Liberty and Bryan counties, but also extends into smaller portions of Evans, Long and Tattnall counties. The 63d Expeditionary Signal Battalion is headquartered and located on Fort Gordon, however relocating to Fort Stewart, Georgia and is a subordinate unit of the 35th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade. In United States Army units, a Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) is a company-sized military unit, found at the battalion level and higher. Considered one unit, a Headquarters and Headquarters Company is essentially two elements within one company.
