34th Yukon Legislative Assembly
The 34th Yukon Legislative Assembly commenced on November 8, 2016, after Yukon voters defeated the Yukon Party government under the leadership of Darrell Pasloski and returned a Liberal majority government under the leadership of Sandy Silver. The Yukon Party was reduced to Official Opposition status and the New Democrats were reduced to Third Party status. It is the second Liberal government in Yukon history. First Session The first session of the 34th Legislative Assembly was convened on January 12, 2017. The single-day session was called by the Premier in order to allow the legislature to elect a new Speaker (Nils Clarke) and establish committee membership from among the MLAs. In a rarity, there was no indication from the government as to what its legislative agenda would look like in its term, as the government signaled its preference to use a late spring sitting for its Speech from the Throne. Yukon Party
The Yukon Party (french: Parti du Yukon) is a conservative political party in Yukon, Canada. It is the successor to the Yukon Progressive Conservative Party. Formation With Prime Minister Brian Mulroney's Progressive Conservative federal government's decreasing popularity, the Yukon Progressive Conservatives decided to sever its relations with the federal Conservatives, and renamed itself the "Yukon Party" in 1991. The party's first leadership convention in June 1991 was won by Chris Young, a 21-year-old former president of the Yukon Progressive Conservatives' youth chapter. Stacey Hassard is a Canadians, Canadian politician, who was elected to in the Yukon Legislative Assembly in the 2011 Yukon general election, 2011 election. He represents the electoral district of Pelly-Nisutlin as a member of the Yukon Party caucus. He is a former leader of the Yukon's Official Opposition and the former interim leader of the Yukon Party. Lake Laberge (electoral District)
Lake Laberge is an electoral district which returns a member (known as an MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of the Yukon Territory in Canada. It is one of the Yukon's eight rural districts and is named after the eponymous Lake Laberge, which is within the riding. Lake Laberge encompasses the Whitehorse subdivisions of MacPherson, and Hidden Valley, as well as the residents of the Takhini Hot Springs Road, Pilot Mountain, the Hamlet of Ibex Valley, and the North Klondike Highway and Lake Laberge as far as Braeburn Lodge. Copperbelt North is an electoral district which returns a member (known as an MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of Yukon in Canada. Paolo Gallina
Paolo Gallina is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Yukon in the 2016 election. He represented the electoral district of Porter Creek Centre as a member of the Yukon Liberal Party until his defeat in the 2021 Yukon general election. Gallina has a background in tourism, sport management and community investment. Prior to entering territorial politics, he was the Community Investment Manager at Northwestel. Ted Adel is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Yukon in the 2016 election. Elizabeth Hanson (born 1951), also known as Liz Hanson, is a Canadian politician from the Yukon. Don Hutton
Don Hutton is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Yukon in the 2016 election. Geraldine Van Bibber
Geraldine Van Bibber (born July 3, 1951) is a Canadian politician representing the Yukon electoral district of Porter Creek North as a member of the Yukon Party. She was elected as part of the 2016 Yukon election. Van Bibber served as the commissioner of Yukon from 2005 to 2010 and a member of the Gwichʼin First Nation.
