Henry Murdoch (17 September 1920 - 24 April 1987), born as George Henry Murdock, was an Australian aboriginal actor and stockman who appeared in Australian films of the 1940s and 1950s. He was working as stockman in Rockhampton when discovered by Ralph Smart, who was helping make '' The Overlanders'' (1946). The film's director, Harry Watt, later claimed Murdoch and fellow aboriginal actor Clyde Combo "proved to be first-class actors and were exceedingly quick witted and intelligent. They certainly disproved the conventional idea that the Australian aboriginal is an animalistic caveman." Fred Walton (July 26, 1865 – December 28, 1936) was an English stage actor who immigrated to the United States in the early part of the 20th century and became a character actor and director in American silent and early sound films. Life and career Born on 26 July 1865 in Brighton, England, he appeared on the stage in England prior to moving to the United States. In 1905 he appeared in a production of ''The Babes and the Baron'', which ran at the Theatre Royal in Birmingham. The following year, the play was produced by Lee and J.J. Shubert at the Lyric Theatre in New York City, where Walton reprised his role as The Toy Soldier. He remained in the United States, and in 1910 and 1911 he starred in several film shorts, for the Selig Polyscope Company in Chicago and for the Powers Moving Picture Company, a New York studio that in 1912 merged with Independent Moving Pictures. Lambert Harwood Hillyer (July 8, 1893 – July 5, 1969) was an American film director and screenwriter. Biography Lambert Harwood Hillyer was born July 8, 1893, in Tyner, Indiana. His mother was character actress Lydia Knott. A graduate of Drake University, Drake College, he worked as a newspaper reporter and an actor in vaudeville and stock theater. During World War I he began working in motion pictures and became a prolific director and screenwriter, working on many silent-era Westerns by William S. Hart, Buck Jones, Tom Mix and others. Often associated with producer Thomas H. Ince, Hillyer expanded into romantic melodramas and crime films in the 1920s. In 1936 he directed two chillers for Universal Studios, Universal, the science-fiction film ''The Invisible Ray (1936 film), The Invisible Ray'' and the cult horror film ''Dracula's Daughter''.
