3rd Edge
3rd Edge were an English boy band active in the early 2000s. Their two singles, "In and Out" and "Know You Wanna", were both top 20 hits in the UK. Prior to joining 3rd Edge, Thomas Jules-Stock had released singles as a solo artist, with two charting in the UK; "That Kinda Guy" (1997) and "Didn't I Tell You True" (1998). After 3rd Edge, he became a songwriter and session singer and has worked with artists such as Wiley, Crookers, Simon Webbe, Professor Green and Rudimental and featured on 2Play's cover of "Careless Whisper", which was a No. 29 hit in 2004. UK Garage
UK garage, abbreviated as UKG, is a genre of electronic dance music which originated in England in the early to mid-1990s. The genre was most clearly inspired by garage house, but also incorporates elements from dance-pop, R&B, and jungle. It is defined by percussive, shuffled rhythms with syncopated hi-hats, cymbals, and snares, and may include either 4/4 house kick patterns or more irregular " 2-step" rhythms. Garage tracks also commonly feature 'chopped up' and time-stretched or pitch-shifted vocal samples complementing the underlying rhythmic structure at a tempo usually around 130 BPM. UK garage encompassed subgenres such as speed garage and 2-step, and was then largely subsumed into other styles of music and production in the mid-2000s, including bassline, grime, and dubstep. Rudimental
Rudimental are a British drum and bass band, signed to Asylum Records, Atlantic Records and Black Butter Records. The band consists of Piers Aggett, Kesi Dryden and Leon "Locksmith" Rolle. They were nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2013, and won several awards including the Brit Award, and the MOBO Award for Best Album. Rudimental also received nominations at the MTV Europe Music Awards for Best New Act, and Best UK and Ireland act. Rudimental has achieved multiple Platinum awards for record sales in several countries including in the United Kingdom and Australia. The band rose to prominence in 2012 when their single " Feel the Love", featuring singer John Newman, topped the UK Singles Chart, and for which they were also nominated for a BRIT Award in 2013. Sticky (born Richard Forbes) is a UK garage producer. He is best known for his 2001 hit "Booo!" featuring Ms. Dynamite, which peaked at number 12 on the UK Singles Chart and number one on the UK Dance Singles Chart, and for the tracks "Triplets" and "Things We Do" featuring Kele Le Roc (which itself samples "Triplets"). In 1999, Sticky joined DJ/producer Jason Kaye's label Social Circles and has since worked with Kaye on many records, including "Booo!". Kaye is a member of breakbeat hardcore group Top Buzz.
